CHAPTER 1

The journey finally begins!!

------------------------------

"How does this dress seem?" Alexis asked me, as she displayed one of her humongous collection of dresses that she had.

"Seems nice." I muttered nonchalantly, not really bothering about what she wore tonight. I had something else to think of right now. My current book, that I hadn't kept aside since the time I bought it from the sale downtown.

Alexis huffed in anger. "Hey! Pay attention, El, and help me out!" She cried.

I looked up and almost laughed at her angry face.

"Look, you just need to wear whatever it is that you're most comfortable in. If he doesn't like the way you dress, well then, he's an asshole for not seeing how beautiful you are. And besides, anything and everything looks gorgeous on you. So why worry about it?" My words boosted her lost confidence and she grinned.

I was right. Alexis was blessed with the most alluring looks a girl could have. She had the most beautiful nose, blue eyes that reminded you of the sky, a lovely body, she didn't need to work out or anything, but she still did. Because of the pressure she had, of being a cheer leader. And her hair, oh how in love she was, with her hair. Those long, lustrous red hair were the root of all her happiness really.

"So, I'll wear the dark blue dress." She settled on the dark blue dress and I smiled.

That's my girl.

"So, tell me more about this Chase guy." I interrogated, as we were walking in the park, enjoying the lovely weather.

It had just rained and the sky was still cloudy, making the weather cold and gloomy everywhere.

Just how I liked it.

I could see a frown slowly creep up on her face.

"He was awful! Couldn't shut the hell up. I got so tired by the time the food arrived. And it wasn't like he was talking about something interesting. All he spoke about, were the upcoming elections and all that crap. And even when the food did arrive, I thought that he'd shut up and eat, but no! Apparently, he really doesn't know the meaning of keeping quiet."

I chuckled. Poor her. She seemed awfully excited about it.

"Seems like you had a good time." I smirked, she playfully hit me on my back.

"You though, should look for guys." I knew there was something bad coming up when she laid emphasis on the word you.

"It's just not my-"

"I know it's not your thing. But when will you stop running away from love, Eleanor? Not everyone is going to hurt you or something. I really want to see you happy."

She must've seen the way I glared at her because she said, 'Happier' later.

"I am happy. And I'm not running away from love, I'm just not fetching for it. There's a difference."

She rolled her eyes. "Sure." I didnt bother saying anything more.

I looked around. The park wasn't all that crowded because it was going to be raining soon again and everyone preferred to be hiding indoors, unlike us. Well, and a few others.

I saw a group of children playing and a few old people walking slowly, smiling.

"I hate to think that all of this can just get over at some point in life, you know. Whatever is happening right now, what if it's all happening for the last time. Like, theres a limit to everything, you know." Alexis frowned.
