DERRICK

After going through Ashley's aunt's house and practically, thrashing it while trying to find some sort of clue as to where the hell Ashley has gone to and coming up empty, I then make my way outside in her backyard where my men have her hands tied behind her around a tree and both her ankles are tied to the tree as well.

"Ah Martha. Why do you make me do this? You are just as stubborn as your sister was." I begin to remind her of her sister, the Queen and her husband's fate.

        "Fuck you!" She says.

"You know that all you have to do to avoid their fate is to tell me where Ashley is. Because you know, it isn't very Princess like, to abandon her people." I start to tell her.

"I will never tell you where she is. I will however, tell you that no matter what you do to me, you can never change the prophecy. You can never be her King!" She exclaims.

I chuckle a little bit. "It's a shame really. All of this over some stupid prophecy. You do realize that none of this would have ever happened if your sister didn't break the law and rules between werewolves and witches breeding." I remind her.

"They never broke any law or rules. There was never anything in the laws that stated you could not breed. Besides, you can not change a prophecy. It does not work that way. And your father was jealous because he wanted my sister." She tells me.

"Oh, but you see, that's where you're wrong. He loved my mother. And besides, times have changed. There are many ways now to get around your so called prophecies. Despite what you may think, there is always a way to change things. And all that destiny bullshit you witches believe in, will soon be exposed as lies." I begin to tell her.

"And what of your Moon Goddess? Isn't she all bullshit? With your so called 'Mates' talk? Isn't that the same as destiny?" She points out. And despite the fact that she's right, I refuse to let her know that.

"You witches are nothing but poison to this world between us and humans. You want peace between the worlds. But the truth is, humans will never accept us. Throughout history after time and time again, the facts have shown how humans treat both of our kinds. They will always see us as monsters and you as people that made a deal with the devil. Yet you still look for peace. And have you taken a look at what humans do to their own kind as well? They are for nothing but wars. They have banned us all. They've tried making us ashamed of who we are to where we have to go in hiding. Hyprocrites, they are. Well, not anymore. It is time the world knows who the true rulers are. And your niece, Ashley, WILL become my Princess." I assure her.

"She regrets the day she ever met you. She tried hard to make people accept you. Went to great lengths to try and do what her mother did in trying to make witches see that not all werewolves are bad. But you are worse than bad. You are evil. You are a disgrace against your own kind. You are just as bad as your bloodline."

"You made us that way. The day you made a peace treaty between all worlds, THAT was the day, that you created what is coming. This war, is to undo what your kind has done. And that is making humans believe they can tag us or kill us. Treat us like fucking monsters. Now, you must pay just like they will. They will fear us as will your kind also. And there is nothing you can do to stop me." I tell her with a grin.

"I curse thee whose name I do not need to speak, For he is the one who is in front of me, may his days come soon to a horrible end, may his death be slowly painful and, as he slowly burns me to death, May he scream and suffer til his last breath." She says to me, right as soon as one of my guys lights up the dead branches we have placed surrounding her to have her burn, just as all her ancestors did.

"What a beautiful poem." I sarcastically reply and then turn around and have me and my pack follow me towards the cars as I begin trying to figure out who might be able to tell us information on Ashley's whereabouts. In which I begin thinking about her cousin. Martha's son.

Right as we got into the car, my right hand man, Archer, asked me, "So where to now boss?"

"We need to find her cousin. I have a feeling that he knows exactly where she's at." I tell him.

He starts up the engine and we start driving off.

"Alpha, it's none of my business but, do you really not believe in prophecies?" He asks me.

"Are you serious? Don't tell me you believe in them." I tell him.

"N-no. Of course not. I just, well, hypothetically, what if it was true? I mean, you and I both know that the Moon Goddess has chosen a mate for you already. And it isn't Ashley."

"Are you telling me you don't trust me?" I ask him.

"Of course not, Alpha. I just don't see why you have to be with her when you don't really love her. And if you guys aren't mates, then why bother doing this? What if when we're done with all of this and let's say that you do marry her, what makes you think it'll work?" He tells me as though he doubts me.

"Are you implying I don't know what I'm doing?" I ask him in a demanding tone.

"No. But I do know what witches are capable of doing. I'm just saying be careful, is all." He tells me.

Then for the rest of the car ride, it was silent.

Nobody may understand what it is exactly I'm going through, but I don't care. I have to do this. For my family. My ancestors. I need to take control and prove once and for all, that werewolves are the most powerful. That we are the ones to fear.
