Luke Hemmings tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for the elevator doors to open.
"Fucking son of a goddamn bitch." He hissed through his gritted teeth, watching the numbers change on top of the doors. He hit the button once more with much pressure, he was almost afraid it would break. Like that would matter, he could pay for the damages on the spot with a wad of cash.
Finally, the gold elevator doors opened with a soft tinkle. Luke exhaled and stepped in, rather disappointed that a familiar girl entered the same elevator right when the doors were about to close.
Her hair was orange, and it reminded him of how the sky would look like when the day met the night back at home.
"Four, right?" He said nonchalantly, pushing up his heavily tinted sunglasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Cocky superstar, right?" Her voice was as cold as his blue eyes.
Luke snorted. "What are you doing here in this elevator, stalking me?"
She took a step back with a sarcastic laugh. "Why would I stalk someone who I don't even know?"
"You don't have to lie, kid." Luke rolled his eyes. "We know you really do know us, and you're just trying to act cool so we'll like you, but your plan didn't work. We don't like you."
"Good," Four prolonged the word, flipping her hair behind her shoulder.
Luke didn't seem to be listening. "God, I hate this building! They are horrible with security! I already told them to stop allowing stalkers like you from entering this building!"
Four remained quiet, so Luke rambled on. "Don't tell me you are one of those perverted freak teenagers who want to have sex with me." He took his sunglasses off and glared at Four. "I can sue and turn the entire world against you if you try to do anything your corrupt mind wants you to-"
The elevator doors opened and Four stepped out immediately.
"Hey!" Luke shouted and ran after her. "I'm not done with you! Don't you dare enter my apartment! That's fucking trespassing, man! If you even try to-"
Luke stopped short when he finally analyzed what was happening; Four was fishing out a key from her pocket and put it in the keyhole of the door right next to his own apartment.
"You live next door?" Luke straightened his back and cleared his throat, trying to regain composure.
"Yeah," Four shook her keys in front of his face. "I told you this afternoon in that coffee shop, I just moved in. Remember?"
Luke paused and tried to recall what happened that afternoon. It has been three hours since his encounter with Four, and frankly, he and his band mates felt relieved when Four finally left them at the coffee shop in peace. "Oh, right. You're new here."
"I am," Four smirked and slid into her apartment swiftly, vanishing behind the heavy door.
Luke stayed in the hallway for one more second before going to his own apartment. He wasn't even surprised when he saw a shoe flying across the room once he entered.
"Michael, put your shoe back on!" He demanded and locked the door behind him.
"Don't be such a dad." Calum whined and picked Michael's shoe from the carpeted floor. "Or a buzz kill."
"Dads are buzz kills." Michael decided and caught his shoe without any struggle.
Ashton entered the room, ducking right when Michael threw his shoe towards Calum. "Hey, guess who moved in next door."
