First thing first: this anime made me cry so badly i was a mess afterwards. Legit i sobbed for an hour and for the next day i could cry at the drop of a hat if i saw anything relating to this anime. Picture of Nezumi and Shion? Tears. Listening to the opening song? Waterfall. The anime was beautiful. Given- it is a shounen ai in a way. I ship the characters, the two boys kiss. I dont think its actually labelled as shounen ai though. Anyways- the entire romance takes the backseat as the plot comes first and foremost. Which was amazing. Not many shows do this from what ive watched. I love the world and the characters and i actually own the entire series as manga (manga was better btw). It was emotionally beautiful and just a great story. The ending makes me cry so hard and I am in the middle of reading a translation of the light novels in hopes it gives me an ending that doesnt hurt me. The side characters are even great in this- all the characters are very special to me and this is by far my favorite anime.
Summary:
The story takes place in a city known as "No.6". Shion, a boy raised in the elite and privileged environment of his home, gives shelter to another boy, who only gives his name as "Nezumi" (or "Rat") on the former's twelfth birthday. What Shion soon discovers is how drastically life will change after meeting with the mysterious Nezumi, with whom he had shared one unforgettable, stormy night.
