Imagine if Voltron would have been written by Rick Riordan

No the Voltron writers are amazing But it's a kids' show (even though 99.9% of people who watch it are over 13) and so a lot of things can't be shown. But Rick has been shown to have a lot stuff which would be considered unsuitable for kids. And his characters are deep (like the Voltron ones) but the fandom isn't narrow-minded and black and white (unlike the Voltron one). There could be so many possibilities. Though probably one of the main character would have died by the end of the book. Maybe a couple. I'm still sad about Ethan, Luke and all the others.

We can have abused characters, even darker themes. I love the Voltron writers. I honestly do. This post is in no way supposed to insult them or say Rick is better. This is just to say there are more possibilities. Which could also be used by them if Voltron was not a kids' show.

But this is mostly because of the fandom. Rick's fandom is tame and can deeply understand the characters (well that's what I've seen). But the Voltron one is so black and white they cannot process the deeper characters. Lotor is a grey character who half the fandom isn't willing to give a chance (I mean I can get why but when you get toxic then no), Keith has been complained about because his character arcs are more visible and has been seen as a cold jerk, the fandom doesn't even try to think about how his mind works and why his flaws are that way. Lance has been made into a fragile feminine (because he takes care of his skin and can do gymnastics. Ladies and gentlemen, these are the people trying to prove gender stereotypes wrong) person who is hurt and upset constantly without the group realizing it and constantly being jerks to him. The fandom complains Hunk gets no character development but in the fanficshe is just a huge teddy bear (which he is) and they completely ignore Hunk as a person with flaws. He's suspicious, has no personal space and can make people uncomfortable (like with Keith in season 2 when they went to the belly of the Weblum). Pidge is made into a sarcastic, done with life person who seems as if she doesn't care about her friends even though she does and is a really sweet person. Shiro is forgotten by the fandom. Coran, I can't find many good fics about him. Allura, like Shiro, is ignored and in the fics she's just this demanding person who seems only to care about saving the  universe although she is one of the biggest cinnamon rolls every.

But every character in Rick's fandom has been appreciated, every villain (except Gabe) been forgiven in one way or another or have been understood.

So the conclusion is that it would be cool for the Voltron series to be written by Rick (because It's a kids show, again no offense to the writers, I'm not insulting them or saying Rick is better, I love them they are amazing) but the fandom should be more like Rick's. Or maybe Harry Potter where mostly everyone just pays attention to the houses.

So.... how are you guys?
