Well, today I had tryouts for band next year. The bands go in this order at my school: (1=best, 4=worst)
1- Wind Symphony
2- Symphonic I ~where I am now, in first (best) chair~
3- Symphonic II
4- Concert Band
The tryouts consist of playing as many scales as you can in two minutes (I played ten scales + F Chromatic Scale) and sight read a small line of music. You get extra points if the scales are memorized and if you play double-octave scales. I play euphonium, so I couldn't do many double-octaves.
Everyone expects me to make it to Wind Symphony. I'm nervous. I missed a note in every scale I played (F {double}, B Flat, E flat {double}, A Flat, D Flat, G Flat, C, G, D, and F Chromatic), and I completely failed sight reading.
I'm nervous. What if I get Symphonic I again? I know everyone will say it's fine, but almost everyone I know expect me to make it to Wind Symphony. I get results next week. Just, what am I gonna do if I get Symphonic I after all this encouragement I've gotten?
