Chapter Three.
Nicole's P.O.V.
I stared at Brianna and shook my head slowly. I couldn't believe it, how could they have happened to walk into the bakery I work at.
"I need to go clean up the mess out there. I'm going to close up after. You can go home early. See you tomorrow babe." I smiled at Brianna and hugged her softly.
"Are you sure? I mean I could help you." She looked at me with concern in her eyes, but also a little hopeful look that I'd let her leave.
I smiled and laughed, nodding softly. "Of course, go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow."
Brianna softly nodded and made her way out the kitchen, I sat for a few seconds before standing and walking out and to the cash register.
Ten minutes later we were still standing at the counter, waiting for Connor and his friend who I had learned to be names Jc. I sighed quietly to myself before putting on a smile. "Go ahead, take your time." I had a bitter tone to my voice.
Forty minutes pass and they finally have their orders and made their way out of the shop. I turned towards the scattered cakes on the floor.
After I was done locking up the store, I walked towards my apartment building quietly. I crossed my arms over my chest softly, walking in silence. It was fairly warm for the time of the year in California.
After about twenty minutes I was inside of my apartment, cuddled in front of the tv with food and my phone on my stomach. I reached out and grabbed my phone, searching through my contacts finding the one Connor entered for himself.
I clicked on it and put the phone on speaker, I set my phone back to my stomach. I waited for felt like forever until he answered the phone. Then a laugh then a sweet, kind voice filled my living room with Connor's voice.
"Hellooooo. Who is this?" Connor's voice was so innocent and warming. My face soon got warm when I heard another hello fill my apartment.
"Oh, sorry. Hi. It's Nicole." My voice slightly shaky. I was honestly nervous to talk to Connor over the phone. I didn't know what to expect. What if he ends up being a jerk and makes me feel like an idiot? Then I heard his voice through the phone, more timid this time, more nervous. I bit down on my lip and smirked, I wasn't nervous anymore when I heard that he was nervous himself.
"Right. Hey. How're you?" He asks as if he weren't at the bakery just an hour ago testing my patience.
"Oh I'm fine. And how are you?" I spoke quietly as I started eating my food again, turning towards the tv screen, smiling gently.
"I'm fi-" Then I heard a girlish scream, then laughing. "Ricky! Go away!"
I smirked, knowing the girlish scream came from Connor.
"Connor."
"Oh right, I'm good. Thanks." I heard the embarrassment in his voice. Then I burst out laughing.
"Connor, was that you that screamed like a girl?" A wide smirk across my lips.
We talked for a few hours before he finally asked me what he wanted.
"Would you like to go lunch me tomorrow?" The nervous tone back in his voice. A smile took over the smirk that painted over my lips.
"Of course I'd love too." It was Connor was a completely different person now and it seemed weird to know him this way, but I liked this side better.
And with that we both bided our goodbyes and I put my phone on the charger, walking to my bed room, falling back into my bed and quickly fell asleep with the thoughts of Connor on my mind and a smile across my lips.
