[this is unedited. errors may be present. thank you~]

I rushed out into the storm.

I didn't feel anything, yet I felt everything. In the seconds of sprinting into the plaza, I feet pure emotion. Sadness, happiness, anger, confusion, all hitting me and making hot tears form at the back of my eyes, making my knees weak, making me feel like falling.

As soon as my footsteps were in range of her, she slowly turned her head toward me. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying and the faintest trace of a smile flashed on her lips.

"Please...help me..." the girl said. It was almost inaudible because of the rain.

"I'm here, I'm here," I whispered softly. "We're going to get you some warm clothes and a warm bed, okay? Can you get up?"

The girl nodded slowly, trying to get up but almost stumbled back into the almost overflowed fountain.

"Woah! Hey, careful there!" I said with a smile, trying to cheer her up. I couldn't tell if it was the rain or if she was crying again.

I wrapped an arm around her neck and shoulders and slowly walked her back to my home.

As soon as we reached the porch, she practically collapsed in my arms from exhaustion.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm just so t-tired and c-cold," she said quietly.

I smiled. "Oh, lovely, it's okay! We need to get inside."

A weak smile shone on her face as soon as I said "lovely."

"Oh, by the way, my name is Hazel."

 "My n-name is L-lorelei, thank y-you so m-much..."

I opened the door and brought her inside, wrapping a ba could.

In the light, her dark skin and hair were even prettier. I realized I was staring.

"Um, H-hazel?"

"Yeah?"

I felt her hand touch mine and I almost jumped back.

"Are you okay?" Lorelei asked timidly.

"You're so cold! I'm going to start a bath and lay out some fresh clothes for you, okay?"

I was so, so tired and was trying desperately not to fall asleep at her feet.

She nodded in reply, following me to the bathroom. I started the bath and wished the water would warm up faster.

"Lorelei, when the water is warm enough for you, go ahead and warm up. I'll lay out some clothes."

She nodded weakly, closing the bathroom door as I left.

As I looked through my closet, the soft sounds of water splashing in the bathroom made me smile. I pulled out a soft, pastel purple sweater and a pair of gray sweatpants, along with some socks and underwear.

I knocked softly on the door to the bathroom, but there was no response.

Opening the door, I saw Lorelei sleeping in the bathtub, the only part of her body sticking out of the water her head, thankfully.

I mean, I-

Never mind.

Thunder was crackling now.

I laid out the clothes and poked her face.

"Lorelei, please wake up."

"H-huh? Where am I? Oh, hi Hazel...HAZEL!"

I stumbled back. "I didn't look at you in that way, I swear!"

Lorelei was blushing furiously and I quickly crawled, well, stumbled, backwards into the doorway.

"Get dressed and I'll make dinner okay bye!"

I quickly closed the door, but then she said something.

"Hazel, before you leave...I know you must be wondering where I came from. I don't know how I got here, but I know one thing. I remember the roses."

[this is really bad and im really sorry! merry christmas loves!]
