The rest of the day and the next work day went by fast for Dalia, Elise, and Cyrus.
It was a Thursday afternoon. Dalia and Elise had finished up work early so they can get an early start. From work, Dalia went home to pick up her RV and change her clothes. She had just finished dressing in her black leather jacket over her grey tank top, as well as her grey acid washed jeans, and her black Timberland boots when Cyrus started overzealously pounding on the front door.
Dalia finished tying her shoe before she swung the door open, irritation evident on her face.
"Outstretch your hand one more time to bang on my door and you will be pulling back a bloody stub." She threatened. With that said, she stepped to the side and let him in. He came in with a bit of caution. "Ok, damn. Why do you always have to resort to violence?" He asked. He looked her up and down, taking in her outfit, "Must be all that black and grey, it has a negative affect on your attitude, you know?" He added, heading to her kitchen.
"No. Black and grey is practical and stylish," she replied, "you and your color scheme have a negative affect on my attitude." She added, snatching the tangerine from his hand and replacing it into the fruit bowl on her counter. "Seriously, why do you always have to be so damn.... Neon?", Dalia asked, taking in his colorful pallete. Pink and light blue long sleeved button up, with black jeans and a pair of pink and blue gradient Jordans."What do you mean? You don't like?" He asked in faux shock. He threw himself on her dark grey sofa with his ass in the air. "Is it the pants, does it make my ass look fat?" He asked.
"Huge", she replied, smacking him on the butt. "Thank you, darling." He replied, blowing her a kiss before settling into the chair properly.
"Don't get comfortable. Let's go while the gettin's good."
She tossed him her truck keys and picked up her phone, charger, and duffle bag from by the front door. She loaded her bag into the RV and locked up her house once she was sure she'd grabbed everything.
"We're going to Elise's then to refuel and on to the freeway." She called out to Cyrus.
"I-10 by 10, got it." Cyrus called back over the sound of the truck engine. With that, Cyrus headed to Elise's house with Dalia following behind.Cyrus was already knocking on the door when Dalia closed the distance between them. He was knocking on her door the same way he'd been banging on Dalia's door 30 minutes before.
Dalia grabbed his hand midair. "Dude... Why are you like this?" She ask pulling his fist down to his side. Just as she had, Elise swung the door open. "Which hand do you want to lose?" She asked Cyrus in frustration. "I actually need these so I'll pass on that, maybe next time." He responded , pocketing his hands.Dalia wasn't really paying attention to the threat. She was mesmerized by Elise. She'd opened the door half dressed. She was in her black laced bra, and denim bootcut jeans, she was barefoot and her long curly hair was in a ponytail. She didn't really worry about anyone seeing her because her house was the only for about a quarter mile in each direction.
Dalia started laughing once she'd looked at Elise's face. "What's so funny?" she asked with a toothbrush hanging out of her mouth.
Before Dalia could answer, Cyrus jumped in, "Biiiiiiitch, Why are you still not ready, damn? Opening the door looking like a sexy gramma. I wanna hurry up and get to Vegas so I can get my swerve on. I'm trying to hit up Chippendales and I wanna be there before final fucking curtain...so hurry up! " Cyrus answered, in fake frustration."First of all, it's Vegas... Strip clubs don't close. Second off, what the hell is a swerve?" She laughed.
"If you're in that big of a hurry than go ahead, I'll ride with Dalia." Elise said putting on the socks she'd had in her hand.
"Fine I'll ride alone then." He blew kisses at Elise and Dalia and walked towards the truck."Wait wait wait, I'll ride with you, bro." Arson shouted sprinting out the door. "They're about to take long as hell. There's 2 stereotypes that has never failed with girls, they can't drive and they take hella long to do anything." Arson joked. Elise knew he was partially kidding but Dalia scowled and rolled her eyes.
Arson kissed Elise on the cheek and jumped in the truck with Cyrus, pushing him out of the driver's seat. "See you there, ladies!" Cyrus yelled out the window as Arson drove off.Dalia walked through the open door. "Seriously though, why aren't you dressed yet? " she asked closing the door behind her and following Elise to her bedroom. "Honestly....I was... Trying to have sex with Arson. It was pointless... Arson doesn't seem interested in me anymore." Elise answered going into her closet and taking out a red and black flannel shirt. Dalia watched her wiggle into it and tuck the tails into her jeans. "Nah, I don't believe that. He's stupid not blind." She laughed. "Look at you, gorgeous... Sometimes I think he's playing for the same team as Cyrus." Dalia laughed.
"Wow. Bitch move." Elise laughed as well, sliding her feet into her grey fluffy slippers and grabbing her red pumps for when they reach their destination. "See," Elise said spinning in a quick circle with her arms out, "All done."
Elise picked up her keys, cell-phone, and duffle bag on her way out the door.Dalia jumped in the driver seat of her black RV. The grey and red interior looked brand new.
Elise slid into the passenger seat and looked around, "Nice set up. New interior?" She asked rubbing the leather.
"No. I just don't have a lot of people in my RV and I take care of it." Dalia answered. She was very proud of her vehicle.
"This red and black is hot, I like it. Red, black, and grey... It really says 'Dalia'." She said, sweeping the entire space behind her.
"Yep, this is home away from home." She said, starting the engine.
Okie smokie, Next stop, fuel." Dalia announced before departure. As they headed towards the freeway, they stopped at a Safeway gas station. Dalia refueled while Elise stockpiled snacks into the RV mini fridge. Once they'd finished, Dalia put the address of the hotel in the GPS system.
"Dalia, how come you didn't want to get a room at the hotel everyone else is staying in?" Elise asked, putting on her seatbelt.
"I'm not about to take the chances of getting bedbugs or sleeping in semen stained sheets. Or touching a remote with God-knows-what on it." She answered. "I'd rather sleep in my RV. I got everything I need right here." With that, Dalia turned on her blinker to exit the station and get onto the highway.
