I was walking through school, deciding whether or not to call my mom. I had a huge headache, my migrane worsening as I walked through the loudness of kids yelling out to each other. I heard my name being called and the next thing I know I'm being embraced by my best friend. I looked up into his eyes.

"Hey Luke," I say, turning around to look him in the eye.

"Have a migrane again?" he asks, putting me out at armslength to get a better look at me.

I nod my head, trying to hide as much pain as possible. I've known Luke since we were probably 2. Being 13 now, it's hard to imagine a life without him there all the time.

"Have you called your mom yet?"

"No," I mumble. I'm not really in the mood for much talking. It takes too much thought.

"I'll call her then," He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. My house phone was on speed dial. "Hey, this is Luke." he paused, listening to my mom. "Yeah, she has another migrane." Another pause. "Okay, I will. Thanks, Mom. Bye." Yeah, that's the sad part. We call each other's moms Mom.

Luke tucks a strand of my blond hair behind my ear. Sighing, I look up at him. "Is she calling the school to check us out of it again?" I ask.

"Yeah. I keep missing English, so I'm sort of liking this set up!" He grins his classic smile, showing his amazingly straight and white teeth. It always makes me smile when he does.

I laugh, walking to my locker as he follows. I do my combination slowly, trying not to think about anything in particular very hard. I breath deeply, closing my eyes to try and calm my spinning head. "Luke?" I say.

"Yes?"

"I'm going to faint."

"What?" And then my eyes blur, my world tilting to the side. The last thing I hear is Luke yelling my name.

"Summer? Summer! Someone go and get help!" And all I could feel were his arms around me, holding me from hitting the ground.
