The Unknown Dragon

The Festival Begins

I woke up, and forgot who I was for a second. (The previous night I was drinking, even though I'm underaged) but I woke up very fast and started to work on the corn fields immediately.

I was collecting ripe corn so swiftly I didn't even notice. I gathered all the corn that was ready, and in doing so my pure black hair waving in the air.

She was always watching me. I didn't mind, I think she had a crush on me. Her hair pure blonde, she was very smart and pretty cute too. But, when ever I was around her she fainted and was blushing.

Today was the festival

I had stepped into the market. Well what used to be the market was now a feild of games for the Rider from the school to pick who would go to Rider's Academy.

No one in my village had been chosen for 5 years, not after the death of Gabriel the Strong. He was one of many that were chosen from my village. But, after his death, no one lives up to his expectation or close to it. So no one was chosen. I walked up to Sebastian with all the ripe corn in hand.

He was watching the sky as a bronze dragon soared down to the field beside the market. Everyone started to freak. "The Rider is here!" "Everyone take your places!" Sebastian and I ran over to our stand and jumped the counter like it was nothing. We were both the kids of the farmers in our village.

The Rider walked in through the entrance. The Rider walked over to Sebastian and I. He looked at the vegetables then at us. "You two look fit enough to try out for the Academy. I want to see you in the games." He then walked off. Sebastian looked at me and I looked back. 'We might just become riders' I thought. He was thinking the same thing.

After taking a look at the the candidates or the people around the market. He had everyone into groups. 1 person versus the other person. "The first game or trial is hand to hand combat. Whoever wins will move on." The Rider said. There were only 8 people he chose. I was up against Alejandro. A dear friend of mine. But I was better. He charged at me. I ran at him slid under his legs, jumped up, and kicked him to the ground. Holding his arm and pressing his elbow forward causing tons of pain. He tapped out. "I GIVE UP!" He shouted. I pulled him to his feet. I saw Sebastian do the same. He finished the match as quick as I did. "Do me a solid? Get into that academy. For the village." Alejandro said. I nodded.

This continued until it was only me and Sebastian. "FINAL ROUND! BEGIN!" The Rider shouted. Sebastian and I were evenly matched. But, not enough. I was swifter. I ran so fast behind him I was a blur. I kicked him, or so I though. He had dodged before I even kicked. He grabbed my leg and made me do a back flip and I landed and we both charged and each other. After a few minutes we were both on the ground. "TIE!" The Rider shouted. We both got up and said "Good job. You did good." I smirked.

The Rider came up to us and said. "Well boys, you have both made it into Rider's Academy. Good job. Pack your bags we leave at 6:00 sharp." He looked at each other and fist bumbed. We made it into Rider's Academy.

My brother congratulated me on getting into Rider's Academy. As it was now 5:58 I left and saw Sebastian leave his house too. We walked to where the Rider was. "Well it's a long flight. So be ready." We hopped on to the bronze dragon and started to fly into the horizon.
