Taehyung

"But how? And when?" I stuttered, amazed. The fence always had electric currents running through it, so how could he have even touched it?

"Don't ask me. I only found it." He shrugged, giving me his bunny grin.

I started to walk back to my house to ready myself for my departure, already formulating a plan, but the boy wouldn't leave me alone.

"So are we friends now, Taehyung? Can I come with you to rescue Jimin? Can I be your sidekick?"

I stopped, turning to him and gripping his shoulders.

"Hey, Jungkook. No offense, but I don't know you like that, and neither does Jimin. Plus, your parents are probably worried about you, so you should go home."

"They aren't worried about me. I always run off. They know I'll be back eventually." Jungkook said casually, the smile never leaving his face.

"W-well... you wouldn't want to get caught. You would be in so much trouble!" I pointed out.

"So would you. And I won't get caught."

"How are you so sure?"

"I won't."

I pinched the bridge of my nose; this kid sure was persistent. I sighed. "Fine. But you better not annoy me, or I'm sending you straight back here, got it?"

Jungkook's eyes lit up. "Yes sir!" He cried and hopped excitedly. Many things he did reminded me of a rabbit.

"Let me go home and grab some things. I'll tell my mom where I'm going, she'll understand."

"Yup, okay! What should I do?" Asked Jungkook, giddy.

"Go watch the hole in the fence. And make sure we can actually fit through it."

"Got it!" Jungkook bounded off, surprising me with his speed. I went straight home and opened the door slowly as to not make too much noise.

I went to my room, which was just my bed and a few drawers. I grabbed a small pack and filled it with plenty of my clothes.

Next I went to the kitchen, quietly snagging a can opener and plenty of canned goods, along with a few water bottles. By now I was struggling to get it all to fit, and spent more time in the kitchen than I intended.

"You're running away, aren't you?"

I turned to see my mother standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She looked on the verge of tears.

"Mother, I have to." I tried to explain.

"Taehyung, I'm sorry that this had to happen to you. I'll do anything to make it better." She choked.

"Mother, there's nothing you can do. This is the only way." I said quietly.

"Oh, Taehyung." She wrapped her arms around me. "Look at you. You're a man now. It was like yesterday you and little Jimin began standing on your own two feet."

I stayed silent.

"Please be safe, Tae. Please." She cupped my face in her hands, placing a kiss on my forehead. "I love you."

I trudged out of the house with two more packs filled with things my mom thought would be important, like blankets, pillows, and a switchblade of my father's. I went around the lake and walked along the fence until I spotted Jungkook. He was kneeling down in front of the hole.

"You ready?" I asked, which startled him.

"Yeah. Let's go." He said, shaking in anticipation. He had a small, bright red backpack which was probably full of his own belongings.
