Sunlight filtered into the room, hitting Splendid right in the face. He rubbed his eyes, sat up and smoothed out his sky-blue hair, then he saw that Faith was missing. "Oh gosh!! Where is she," he exclaimed, sweat poring off of him. The he looked out the nearest window and saw that she was on top of a hill. "Phew! She's just sitting out on the hill, what a relief," he sighed as he ran out the front door, he then came up and behind her and took off her hat and placed it on his head. She then turned around, tripped him, and took his cape and tied it around her neck. "There! Now we're both even," she proclaimed as she helped him up, offering him her hand. He sat up and gladly took it and pulled her into his arms, giving her a hug.
"I got an idea," he said as he gave her a sparkilimg smile, "what is it now," he picked her up bridal-style and flew over to the enormous field he went through last night. He laid her down on the ground, he then straightened Faith's hat he was still wearing. "I flew past this field last night, cool right? It's breathtaking," he then turned to Faith. Faith was shaking, memories were flooding her mind as the sound of gunshots and screams filled her ears. She fell to her knees she screamed in pain, "Splendid, me!!! She's going to take over, run while you still can," she yelled as she buried her face in his jacket.
"Faith, are you hurt?!? What's wrong?!? What do you mean 'She's going to take over,' who's she," he grabbed a hold of her shoulders and yelled to snap her out of it. Flashbacks flooded her mind: blood soaked the floor as she looked down to see dead soldiers soaked with blood, her hands covered with fresh blood with a dagger in her hand.
She then shoved Splendid to the ground, her hair was stroked with bright red highlights, her teeth were sharpened at he edges, and her eyes were changed from green to yellow. A maniacal laugh echoed through Splendid's ears as she slowly approached him, "uh.. Faith?!" He then got up, flew above her head, trying to escape her insanity; she then grabbed his ankle and dragged him to the ground while holding a knife to his neck. "Faith! Please.. I don't want to hurt you, this isn't like you," he exclaimed as he tried to hold her arm back. She then smiled and laughed to herself, "you still haven't figured it out?! You really are a damn idiot! You don't even know her secret," she exclaimed as she smiled evilly. "Who are you? Why are you doing this to Faith," he asked as he slowly got up, scars covering his face. She smiled as she looked him in the eyes, "Fate. Remember that name, because it's the last person you'll ever see," she said as she hit in the back of the head with a rock. "Faith is no more, all that's left is Fate, I guess it's just a coincidence that you happened to be in love with the most merciless killer in town!" She then dragged his unconscious body into a nearby warehouse, and locked him up in a cage. "Looks like the great hero has finally fell!"
