Chapter 10 - New sword

Chapter 10

"Setsuna.."

I turned to face my team with a blank face 'Yes?' They all sweat dropped, including Sasuke, and Kakashi pointed to the over sized sword on my back "Why have you got Zabuza's sword?" 'Is it not obvious?' I questioned with a slight tilt of my head. 'He's gone, so the swords now mine. That was what we agreed on' Naruto pointed a finger at me accusingly "You didn't agree on anything! You just took it!" I shook my head and began walking again.

After Naruto and Inari had their tearful goodbye's, we were on our way back to Konoha. However, this time, we're leaving with an extra person. That's right.. Mayonaka decided to come with us. Even though I told him sternly to just stay put in the land of waves, he protested by saying he had to keep an eye on me and make sure that I was safe.

For some reason, Kakashi has been extra weary of me. 'Kakashi' I started as I slowed down to walk his pace, which was rather slow "Hm?" He glanced up from his Icha Icha paradise book and rose a single visible eyebrow 'Why are you suspicious of me?' "Uh.. It's that obvious huh?" I merely stared at him with a serious face and.. blinked.

He chuckled and scratched at the back of his neck, sliding his book back into his pouch "Well, it's not that i'm suspicious with you. I'm just trying to figure out what you did yesterday" He glanced at me from the corner of his eyes and as soon as they met my own, he gave me a closed eye smile. "Hey! Stop smiling like that at Setsuna" Mayonaka stated angrily as he came in between us. I stared at him slightly confused and noticed Kakashi also giving him the same look.

"Hey Setsuna, wanna get back faster?" Mayonaka suddenly asked with a slanted grin. I tilted my head, but nodded nonetheless. In the blink of an eye, he turned from human to Panther. Growling, he caught the other attention. Sasuke rose an eyebrow at me, Naruto and Sakura jumped away and Kakashi chuckled before continuing walking.

Climbing onto Mayonaka's back, I moved Zabuza's sword to a more comfortable position and clutched my Shamisen closer to my body. "You better hold on" Mayonaka stated with a smirk, but I shook my head. My Shamisen was more important to me than my life.

"Well Guys" The large animal started as he crouched down into some sort of launching stance. Naruto pointed and shouted loudly - "Why do you get to have a rise home?! It's not fair!" Mayonaka chuckled "See you later" With that said we were off, however just as we got out of sight, Kakashi hollered "Meet tomorrow morning at the bridge at 6am"

"Wahoo!" Mayonaka hollered as he jumped high over the Konoha gate. My eyes widened slightly 'How can you jump so high?' "Well, when I was with Orochimaru, he enhanced my strength and agility. So, I guess that's part of the reason. It might also be because I'm part panther" He chuckled at the 'part panther' part.

As soon as we landed inside the village, the two gate keepers - Izumo and Kotetsu - jumped out of their seats and got into attacking positions. However, as soon as they saw me on top of Mayonaka, they calmed and put their weapons away.

"What.. it's only you Setsuna. You finally finished with your mission?" Izumo excalmed in confusion at first, but then happily. I nodded once and stepped off of the large panther. "Sentaro's missed you. He hadn't stopped wining about when his sisters coming back home" Kotetsu chuckled before turning to Mayonaka. "So.. what's with that huge cat?" Said 'cat' growled and turned back into a human.

Scowling at the two guards, Mayonaka crossed his arms over is chest "For your information, I'm a panther, not a cat" He growled out. The two guards stared at him wide-eyed before nodding continuously. I shook my head and began making my way towards the Hokage's office to report of Mayonaka's arrival. "Hey Setsuna! Hold up"
