Chapter 10- Rooting For!!?? (Alphys)

Alphys stared unblinkingly at her giant monitor screen, observing the human battle a Royal Guard. Actually, it was more of playing. The human was petting the rather fluffy guard and Lesser Dog seemed to be enjoying it! Once the fight was over, Alphys glanced at the clock on her wall. Gosh! It was 11pm already!? Alphys needed to get some sleep; who knows how Long she had been staring at that screen. Her eyes were dry and tired.

Alphys lay sprawled out on her bed in her light pink nightgown. Somehow, her brain would not comply with her body's desperate pleas of rest. Her mind was occupied but empty. Alphys closed her eyes and let her mind wander. She thought about all the unopened letters piling up on her desk... no. She did not want to deal with that just then. Then, she thought of Mettaton.

He was just... so busy! Mettaton truly was born to be a shining star! Well, him being the only source of television entertainment for the underground likely contributed to his outstanding success but that was just a trivial matter. Deep down, Alphys missed the fun times they shared in the Human Club. How Mettaton begrudgingly watched anime with her, how she cheered him on when he belted out his favourite tunes. She even left part of his face unfinished just so he could come back and ask to get it done.

She then thought about the human again... ... Good golly they were good at dodging! It was almost as if they had done the entire thing before. It was very similar to watching anime; except that it was real life. The human was the main character in their story, the monsters were the foes of course. However, the human kept showing them mercy! 'What a kindhearted individual.' Alphys thought.

Alphys found herself thinking up funny and dramatic scenarios the human could be in, she giggled to herself at an imaginary battle the human would have. Then, finally. The harsh reality hit her like a 100 ton hammer. Undyne. Undyne was going to capture the human...... The human would eventually die by the hands of a Friend. But why would Alphys care? She was a Monster after all.

Undyne. Undyne. Undyne. The image of the wide gleaming grin of Alphys awesome friend remained in her head. Why wouldn't it go away? She wanted it to leave and stay at the same time.

    Alphys shook her head furiously. It was much to late for this nonsense. She would do it tomorrow. She was too tired to hear her phone ring.
