The silence kept quiet as the noise never pierced it, not choosing to deal with the soul of no hope.

GOLDEN'S POINT OF VIEW

Today was my first day at the new school I recently transferred to. The last school bruised me more than I can count and this was the only other high school my parent would allow me to attend. I looked back to my mother in the car who simply smiled and waved at me as I waved back, smiling under my mask. I turned back to the school adjusting my mask and heading towards the office.

When I arrived there, I saw a lady behind a desk and tapped on it in hoped to gain her attention, gladly able to do so.  She smiled and her mouth started to move, in I suppose the gesture of verbally talking.

I placed my finger on my cheek near my ear, dragging it in a small arch along my cheek, to the near area of my mouth, signing I was deaf. Thankfully she seemed to have got. Her response seemed to be giving me an annoying and sighing expression, followed by her writing down on a piece of paper, proceeding to print out what seems to be a schedule and handing them both to me.

I read the note as said, 'This will be your schedule, a student by the name of Frisk Coalman ((In respect I did not use Frisk' real name, also puns.)) will be here soon to show you around and to your classes needed. Good luck surviving freak.'

The end caused me to frown a bit, but I didn't think much of it, not being out of the ordinary to start off the day bad. I looked at the second paper, and as guessed, it was a schedule, my schedule.

As I studied my schedule, a girl with short hair, a blue sweater with purple stripes implemented into it, and navy blue jeans, walked into the office, heading to the desk lady and they seemed to have a conversation with the bitch behind the desk pointing to me a bit before their conversation seemed to end, the girl turning towards me smiling warmly.

The girl in blue walked up to me and signed,

     "Hello, I'm Frisk."

I smiled under my mask and replied back,

"Hi, I'm Golden, I presume you know sign language?"

After I told her my name she seemed confused on what I'm saying, causing me to simply smile and suppose not. I grabbed my notebook out of my checkered backpack along with a red pen and wrote the question again as my handwriting got a bit messy due to anxiety and the fact that I'm standing up.

The girl smiled again and took out a blue-green pen out of her backpack writing in reply on a small notepad of her own,

'I know sign language, but only a little bit, wasn't really taught much :/'

I smiled as my red pen dragged along the paper

'Well, that's lovely to know. Anyways, introduction aside, I was told you were here to show me around?'

Nervous about the question I asked as Frisk' face went from a smile to a straight face as if spacing out trying to think of something, my smile started fading as well. She then jumped with an instant smile on her face with a snapping motion following it. She then gestured me to follow her as she walked out of the office.

We had a tour of the school as well as was told a bit of information as she showed me places that were recommended I go to, such as classes, cafeteria, nurses office, etc. We ended up finishing the tour earlier than we both expected. Frisk asked if I wanted to hang out with her and her friends which I gladly accepted.

On the way to her friends, I bumped into someone whole responded by pushing me seemingly growling something to which I wrote down, 'Sorry :/' and showed it to them, in which they responded by walking away with an annoyed expression. We continued along our way as well.

When we turned a corner we headed towards what seem to be two people chatting with each other, who I assume are her friends. They seemed to have noticed us as we walked closer, waving, as Frisk waved back. When they got close enough, they started to seem to be chatting as I stood there nervously, twiddling my sleeves. Frisk then later pointed to me, bringing their attention, directly. to. me. Not a good thing I presume it to be.

I placed my notebook properly and wrote neatly,

    'Hello :)'

The red ink flowing on the page.

It can be handy dandy to have a mask to hide the things people wish not to see.
