Chapter 2: Stuck in The Friend Zone

Sumi's P.O.V.

Taehyung has gotten a lot more popular since freshman year of high school. I mean look at him, he's breathtaking and most of the girls love him only for his looks I bet. They don't look deep into his eyes and try to understand him. He's the whole package.

He is smarter than Namjoon at times and then denser than a sack of potatoes, but he's a lovable idiot that no one can resist. All this summer I tried making moves on him, but he would give me this cute little head tilt and ask what I'm doing. I would awkwardly say "Oh.... um, I'm trying to practice acting?" and he would believe with no questions asked, I would usually give him a deadpan look and walk away. 

I casually walked out of my room of our shared apartment and sat by him as he was on his phone. I looked over his shoulder and read some of his texts as my heart went into my throat. He was talking to another girl, named Soojung. She was the school bully, who would usually target me because I'm his best friend.

"Tae, who is making you smile so much?" I asked with a fake smile and a little head tilt.

He gave me a box smile with the cutest blush I ever have seen on him, "I'm talking to Soojung from high school remember her?" he said with a dreamy-eyed look.

"Y-Yeah, I do!" I said with my voice cracking a little. He smiled brightly and chuckled after he heard my voice. But, I had to get back to the question at hand that I wanted to ask him.

"T-Taehyung can I ask you something?" I said nervously as played with my fingertips. 

"Sure!" he cutely and gave me his full attention.

I calmed down my nerves and looked at him full of confidence "What would you say if I fell in love with you?'

He looked at me with widening eyes and stayed quiet for a while as he thought about his answer. "Honestly Sumi, I think that I couldn't ever be with you. Not because of who you are or what you look like. I just think we don't match each other on a relationship level of things. I love you, but only as a friend or like a sister."

After that, my heart broke in half after hearing him admit that, my whole world started to cave in around me as his words echo throughout my head. I just silently sat there thinking to myself thinking 'Why..' 

"Of course! I was just only joking with you Taehyung!" I said with quviering lips and teary-eyed expression. He looked at me worriedly and tried to pull me into a hug, but I got up and ran away from him. I hid in my room for the rest of the night. 

"Why, Tae... I thought you would at least give me a fighting chance" I whispered into my pillow as my eyes closed making the world turn to a dark place.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm sorry for not updating this book in a long time! I was just busy getting my freaking HOMEWORK done (I hate homework with a passion). I also got my first job and now I have to figure out updating times! FiNaLs ArE iN 2 wEeKs! Yeah, school just loves to f**k you over after Thanksgiving break INCLUDING HIGH SCHOOL! -_-#
