Chapter Seven: Unwanted

Alec walked downstairs, hand in hand with Magnus. Alec was really nervous when he saw his parents at the bottom of the steps. He let go of Magnus's hand quickly. Magnus looked at him with a concerned look on his face.

"Hey mom, dad," he said.

"Hi sweetie, are you ready-"

She cut off when she saw Magnus standing next to Alec.

"Mom, dad, this is-"

"Magnus Bane,"Robert said.

"Mr. Lightwood."

"What are doing here?" Marsye asked.

Jace and Izzy looked at Alec, he sighed.

"He's here to join us for dinner."

"Where's your girlfriend?" she asked.

"Your looking at him," Magnus said.

Marsye and Robert looked at Magnus, then back at Alec.

"If this is a joke, then it's not funny," Robert said.

"It's not," Alec said.

Maryse shook her head, "No, your not dating him anymore. In fact, I forbid you to see him again."

"M-mom, that's not fair!" Alec shouted.

"You shouldn't be dating this.....this thing."

"Mom, that's not fair," Izzy said.

"Go to your room, Isabelle," Robert said.

"I'm not five years old dad! Alec deserves to be happy."

"Oh he will be," Maryse said, "Because we found a perfect shadowhunter for you."

"What?!" Alec asked.

"You heard your mother, magnus bane get out of our house."

"No, I'll leave if Alec tells me to."

"Alec, tell him to leave," Robert said.

Alec shook his head and grabbed Magnus's hand.

"No, I'm leaving with Magnus."

"Then leave," Maryse said.

A flash of hurt went across Alec's face. His throat tightened.

"Fine," he opens the door and walks out of the institute with Magnus by his side.
