"Kaiya Feylor... Former assassin to Queen Hertha." Jorh said, giving a slight bow to her. "I respect your skills, my friend." He said politely.
Kai returned the bow with a nod, although her eyes screamed "Terror" her posture said "Calm".
Jorh spoke again.
"I know why you have been hunted, I know where you have been hunted, but it baffles me why you would bring another soul into your running..." Jorh looked at Jay, who had been staring at Jorh with hate and fear ever since he had started talking.
Kai's breath hitched in her throat as a growl rose in her jaws, her eyes became slits, and her hair grew and whitened as her transformaiton took place once more.
"Your gaurds are nothing, Jorh Blackon. I defeated them once in protection of my sister years ago, and I do not plan to lose a loved one to their blades anytime soon!" Kai roared, her paws hitting the ground as she clamped her jaws into an armored guard.
The metal plate that encased his chest bent under her teeth and splintered into his skin. He let out a shrill scream.
Jay's eyes widened as a arrow flew past him, he lept from the tree, pulling a sword from the hip of a guard and striking him down with it.
Blackon snarled and went for his own sword, rushing at Kai, who slammed her head into his chest, sending him tummbling backwards.
Jay stuck a few more gaurds before leaping onto Kai's back and grabbing some of her fur.
Kai opened her jaws and caught a sword blade in her mouth, she yanked it loose of its owners hands, shattered it between her teeth, then lept over the rushing mass of swords, spears and arrows, crossing the bridge out of the camp.
Blackon tryed to run them down but outrunning a tiger is harder then it seems, so in one last attempt to catch her, he called out.
"Ayiak, evila llits era rehtaf dna rehtom."
Kai's head whiped back to look at Blackon and she started to stop, but a sudden cry from Jay spurred her on and she cursed at herself for even trusting what Blackon had said.
Blackon sighed and shook his head as he watched them run off into the forest, his cold and killing demeanor fell and his grey eyes softened. He sheathed his sword and turned to face the tree where Kai had previously been.
"When you come back Kai, I hope you don't come back with flair..." He muttered to himself.
Kai didnt stop running till she reached the edge of the grey cliffs, about twenty-five miles outside of the camp's gates.
It was there that she slid to a stop.
"Jay..." Kai whispered, letting him slip off of her back as she transformed again.
He was pale, his eyes barely open as sticky red blood stained the back of his shirt, an arrow shaft sticking out of his back next to his right shoulder blade.
"Deep breaths, Jay... Hang on..." She muttered mostly to herself as she pulled him under a tree.
Jay hissed through his teeth as the arrow moved, Kai flexed her hand as she went to pull the arrow shaft out.
"Jay, take my hand, hurry." Kai said, as Jay lay on the ground, face down. He clamped his own hands around her arm and in a flash, Kai had her free hand rapped around the arrow head.
She yanked strait up and Jay yelled, moving away from her hand in an attempt to flee the pain.
"Relax now, it's out." Kai said, casting the arrow aside and ripping some of his tunic so the wound was exposed.
Kai then took some cloth from Jay's bag.
"Use some salve from the black jar..." Jay mutted through the pain as he saw Kai reach into his leather bag.
Kai nodded and dipped her fingers into the odd purple paste, she coated the wound with it and then rapped the cloth snugly over his arm and shoulder.
She put away the remainder of the supplys and sat back against the tree trunk with her eyes closed as Jay sat up slowly.
"Jay, try to get some sleep." Kai said as Jay winced at his arm.
"Alright..." Jay said quietly, laying on his left side and looking up into the branches of the trees.
As Jay drifted off to sleep, Kai ran the words Jorh had said to her in the back of her mind.
How could he know? Hertha couldn't know... so how could Blackon know? Kai thought it over before deciding to go back. She had to.
Hmmmm.... tricky words.... a new langauge? Intersting. Jorh you multilingual warrior you....
Tricky words indeed....
