Chapter 8: Mom
I woke up to the sun shining bright in my dark, chocolate brown eyes. My hands immediately flew up to my eyes, wiping the sleep out of them. Looking to my right I seen my father standing at the window, looking at the breath taking view of London. My eyes danced their way to the clock. 7:45am. He's up early enough, considering he can sleep until ten decades have gone and passed.
"Good Morning, Dad". I whispered. He turned around and smiled slightly, his teeth showing just a bit. I smiled back.
"Good morning, Bri". He bent over and gave me a hug. "How are you feeling"? He asked quietly.
I shrugged my shoulders, not really knowing, considering they numbed my whole shoulder.
"I don't know, they numbed my whole shoulder last night while you were asleep". He nodded his head, understanding what I had just said to him.
"You should be back home in a couple of days Bri, then we can go back to our normal routine". He stated, pulling the grey plastic chair up to my hard hospital bed and sitting down quickly.
"Let's just hope that me getting kidnapped doesn't turn into a regular routine". I joked. He didn't laugh or budge at all. My smile faded and I fiddled with my hands, finding them very interesting at the moment.
"Bri, that's not funny. Please don't joke about that, I was terrified that you were gone. You're my baby girl, I don't ever want you gone from me, besides when you move out". He took a deep breath. "Even then I'm going to be protective over you, I love you more than anything. More than my career, you're my life, angel. You're not going to go missing again, I promise you that Bricklen". I nodded my head, he then got up and hugged me. I hugged back with just as much force he was giving me.
A knock was heard from the closed door, I looked towards my dad then back at the door as it opened slowly. A lady's head poked into the room, she looked familiar but I couldn't pin point it.
"Faith, come on in. It's alright". My father said, waving her in. I looked at him confusingly. He smiled at me. "Bricklen this is your mother". I looked at her and smiled wide, I was slightly mad at her for leaving my father to take care of me on his own when I was just a newborn baby and leaving me for thirteen years.
"It's nice to finally meet you face to face, how long has it been? Oh yeah, thirteen years". I whispered harshly. I looked down at my lap once again, messing around with my petite fingers.
"Bricklen. That is uncalled for, say you're sorry right now". My father said, I could basically feel his glare on the side of my face.
"Why should I say sorry? She left us, left you to take care of a newborn baby all by yourself dad. You know that you secretly don't want her here either". I said aloud, she looked ashamed of herself, good. I know I said I wanted to meet her yesterday, but when I see her, I just get filled with anger.
"Bricklen, I know I left you with your father. But it was the best for you and I, my parents would have kicked me out of the house. I wouldn't of had anywhere else to stay, Zayn's house was already to crowded for another two people. I was worried, so I dropped you off at your fathers and I ran away thinking everyone was going to make fun of me". She wiped some fallen tears. I shrugged my shoulders at her, she was so stupid.
"I don't care, you could have talked to my dad about it and arranged something, instead of leaving us behind". I stared right into her eyes for the longest time, until she looked away.
"Zayn, can I talk to you"? She asked dad. He nodded getting up from his seat and walked out the door with her, as he was about to close the door he looked at me and shook his head. With a slight glare he only uses when he's angry with me.
