Chapter 1

"Holy crud! shut up!, I yelled at my best friend! Mary just stared at me with her wide, light hazel eyes looking at me as if I had just slapped her.

I knew she wasn't shocked at the fact that I yelled at her, but was in awe that I yelled at her for talking, or I should say 'ranting' on and on about One Direction.

I couldn't figure out why all my friends were so juiced up about this boy band. I had to admit though, their songs were good. However, it got kind of annoying to have my best friends, who I was always with, talk about them 24/7!

"KAJAL!", Mary yelled at my face while waving her hand in front of my face. "What Mimi?", I said annoyingly, using the nickname that she was always called by her friends. "We have to go! Nora and Sydney are waiting for us.", she said while grabbing her purse. "Okay", I said lazily getting up from the couch.

We walked out of my house and got in the car. Sydney (Syd) and Nora were staring at me with huge, golf-ball sized eyes. "Ugh! Mary, do you have to tell them everytime I tell you to stop talking about 1D!", I said to her, already knowing why they were glaring at me. "Yup," she said grinning widely in my direction.

"What store are we going to first?" I asked curiously. "Forever 21," Syd's mom, Teresa said to me.

I turned to Sydney and Nora and said, "Why are we going shopping again?" Nora replied, "We have to get the best outfits for when we go stalk One Direc---" "Nevermind, I don't really care!", I said interupting her because I knew she would blab on about them forever. My 3 best friends were so hyper because their favorite boy band was coming to Los Angeles. I really didn't want to follow the 5 boys around for a whole day, but Mary made me promise to as her upcoming birthday present. I agreed after a long lecture and lots of convincing from Syd, Nora, and Mary.

As we walked into the mall, a wave of A-C hit me and I felt less grumpy and in the mood to shop, even though it was for something I didn't really care about. However, I went along tailing behind my friends through stores trying shoes, dresses, shorts, and shirts on. I knew it was going to be a very long day.

I stopped Sydney at one point and pointed to Starbucks. She knew at once what I wanted and agreed to come with me.

As I stood by the door looking at the menu, Sydney ran and stood in line. She called me over as soon as we were about to reach the lady at the cash register. I pushed through people, and stood next to my bouncy friend. "Syd, stop being hyper or I will definitely get you no coffee." I said to her, while smacking her arm. "Fine!", she said back, while shooting me one of her signature looks, a frowning face.

Just as I was going to take a step forward. Something pulled me back by the ear. "OWWWW!!", I yelled, while turning around to see what was stuck on my earring. A boy in a hoodie and sunglasses looked up at my earring and tried to get his hoodie string untangled from my ear.

As soon as he got it unstuck, he looked up at me, smiled and apologized. He took off his glasses but kept his hoodie on. Those magnificent, green eyes made my heart beat. However, I quickly said it was okay and turned around. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm really sorry." This time, I glared at him as said loudly, "I already told you it was okay. Now, if you don't mind, my friend Sydney is waiting for me to order."

Quickly, I turned around and ordered my coffee. I felt really guilty for being angry at that mysterious boy. I spun 360 degrees and saw his hoodie and sunglasses back on as he left and exited the store.

I sighed before Syd and I made our way to the exit. She asked me what was wrong, but I felt too guilty to explain what I just happened. I told her it was nothing. She looked at me unconvinced, but I ignored her and headed back to Mary and Nora.

Something told me that I had seen those eyes before and it made me regret my words even more.
