Chapter: 2 Bitter Truth

I drove and stopped at the florist to buy red roses for Rebecca. I paid and took the flowers and headed to Rebecca's penthouse where she lived. I reached there to find her waiting for me anxiously.

I saw her wearing a red dress that ended somewhere above her knees. It was coincidental that her dress and the roses which I bought for her were red. The dress highlighted her curves, she wore a pair of black high heels and looked elegant with light makeup and bright red lipstick. The scene of her was so mesmerizing that I would like to stare at her incessantly. She was looking damn beautiful.

"You are late " she said in a stern voice looking into my eyes. " I m sorry, anyway you look gorgeous. " I said. She blushed as I complimented her and she said a sweet thank you. " Even you look handsome "
I replied to her compliment . We got into the car.
The ride was quiet with some conversation in between . I focused on my driving while Rebecca was humming the songs that were being played.

Finally after 20 minutes ,we reached our destination .
The manager walked briskly towards guiding us to our table which was somewhere away from others. The manager knows me very well if anything of the restaurant upsets me , I am gonna be worse.

"Sir make yourself comfortable,while I bring a bottle of wine" He said and left.

I and Rebecca started talking about some random stuff ; we gave our order and sipped wine.
Soon the food arrived, we ate,talked, giggled and the date went normal. After I paid, we exited the place.

"Aiden ,can we just go to some desolate place,I am really tired of this lifestyle , I just want to be in a place full of silence for some time." she said coyly as if something was eating her from inside.
I never mind going to a desolate place unless I m with Rebecca .
I replied saying yes . She said , " Thanks" in a low voice.

I took her to the outskirts of the city where no one lived and it was quite silent. It was dark.
Rebecca got out of the car. I was perplexed of her strange behavior. Before, when we used to go out on a date, she would smile all the time as if that was the last day of life but today something was definitely wrong. She got out followed by me.
The place was so silent that even the sound of the closing of the car doors was heard loud.

I went near Rebecca and cupped her cheeks and asked in a concerned voice,"Darling what's wrong?"
"Are you alright ?"

She looked into my eyes. Damn! Those innocent eyes say so many things. I kissed her. She kissed me back. This made me feel that I was on a cloud nine!
She cried and said," I want to breakup"
Hearing these words first I could not believe and when I realized I wasn't seeing a dream, I was shattered as if my blood was gushing in and out of my heart with high pressure.

I took three steps away from Rebecca and was overwhelmed by what she said . After hearing her words I was going through a severe yet painful trauma.

"What do you mean? " I said asked to get answers.
"Aiden, I can explain you everything but please don't think that I am selfish. "

" Are you in love with somebody else? " I asked.
" No! I love you so much. "
" Then why the hell you want a breakup, we both love each other, we look good together. " I said with irritation because I was eager to get answer from her.

She sobbed and said ," Aiden , I am leaving New York, I m going to Paris to study architecture , my career is more important. "
I was angry at her after hearing this stupid reason , she can jeopardize our relationship for her career.
" Is it only your career that matters, what about me,my future, career, dreams????"

" I was thinking of a family and a peaceful life with you, but you just ruined it. It jinxed!"
" Aiden try to understand. "
I yelled at her "You are selfish." and ordered to get into the car. I dropped her at her house and never looked upon her even once.
I don't want to give a damn.
The date ended with poignancy.
I cried and cried ,I broke up with someone whom I loved inside out. She did not respect my feelings. I don't know how am I gonna move on. I m just hurt.......
