Chapter four (that's Aisling's pic)

I sank down to my knees and muttered the longest prayer that I have ever said. As much as I wanted to die, my body ached for survival. But I was still alive. Maybe it was not going to be bad at all. I let my thoughts drift away then a deep voice startled me.

"What are you doing here? My brother is not going to be happy if he finds you here. "

I was too scared to turn around. What if he would slap me or even do worse? So I just hugged my knees hopping they would offer the comfort I needed. Suddenly, warm hands enveloped me in an embrace. My head laid on a hard chest.

I did not want to move because I was sure if I did, he would kill me. Now I knew what my fate was. I was going to be their mistress! My heart started beating loudly and that just made him tighten the hug.

"Relax Aisling. I am not going to hurt you, I promise. Maybe I should have not hugged you. I thought you would relax more but I was wrong." He said.

He got up to leave but I held on to him even more.

"My apologies, I thought you.... you we.. were going to make me your..... your..... "I startered.

"My what? Mistress? "

I blushed at what he said and I just gave a light nod. To my surprise, he chuckled.

"Why, aren't you a dirty head! A pretty little lady with a dirty little head.! Ha ha ha!! My name is Myles by the way. The asshole you just met was my brother, Alcander. Oh! Your sister, Genesis, she is still alive by the way. "

The revelation shocked me. My mother told me that my sister was killed a few years back and now I had learnt that she was still alive. At least I had a family member who was alive. I had hope for a brighter future.

"Is.... is she in a..... a cell? "I asked.

"Oh no my dear! Is all this because Alcander threatened you? "

"Yes! "

"Don't be afraid of him. He's all bark and no bite. He's only cruel to the ones he likes. "He told me as he winked.

Alcander liked me. That was the best joke that I've heard in a while.

"Now, let me get you a room. I am sure the sanatorium is not all pleasant. "

Instead of helping me up, he carried me all the way. I just hang on to him as tight as I could. As he opened my new room, it was a wow factor.

"Myles? Are you sure this is my room? "

"Yes dear. It is all yours. I need you to rest. If you need anything, my room is at the left and Alcander's is right opposite yours. "

"Why would Alcander help me with anything? He told me that I shouldn't even speak to him unless I am spoken to. "

"Never mind what he said Aisling. He is quick to anger but inside, he's a nice guy. "

"What about Genesis' room? I would prefer her. "

"I don't want to ruin Genesis' surprise about you. So you either go to Alcander or come to me. "

"Alright! I will come to you. Thank you. "

"You are welcomed. "

I did a small courtesy as he left. Myles was not that bad but I did not want to take any chances. After all, he could be lying about Genesis and me not being a mistress.

In the meantime, all I could do was rest.
