Was Bobby happy about this? Let's try with 'hell no'. Yet there the two of them rode, alone in John's old Buick. The boys had also been disappointed that John wouldn't join them on the hunt to stop Lilith from breaking The 66 Seals.

John had learned his lesson though, he needed to keep his distance from the boys when they hunted. Having family would cause weakness and he couldn't do that to his boys again. They understood, but there was also an agreement that they would get together again soon. John would be available at the phone at any hours of the day.

Lee pondered as she sat in the passenger seat of his truck. How did she end up with John Winchester?

She had known the man for 24 hours and still they appeared to be trusting each other like they had been friends for many years. Yet not many friends kept shooting looks at the other one's rack or legs.

"Remind me again, how did you end up with such an idiot?"

"Because I have impeccable taste in men, obviously." She rolled her eyes, "We got together when we were seventeen, so teenage hormones and good sex covered everything for a few years - but.." She shrugged, inspecting her cuticles.

"But he still ended up as a vamp and now he's dead meat." He grinned, his knuckles whitening slightly at the steering wheel. "Did you learn you lesson then, princess?"

"Yes, boys my age suck." And with that she opened the glove department and popped in a piece of fresh gum.

They had arrived at the dingy farmhouse in the middle of the afternoon, as the sun stood tall in the heavens. It was an opportune moment to end the life of the thing that Lee once had kissed goodnight every day. It was bittersweet, but necessary for her own sanity. And for the life of his next meal.

"This is gonna be satisfying." He chuckled, pulling out a bat and two knives that he tucked into his pants.

"You tell me? He killed Carver." Lee grumbled, heading straight for the main door. John followed at her heel, towering one head taller than the angry, petite woman. She was clad in all black for the occasion, her black jeans hugging her ass in a way that gave John all the reason to walk behind her. Hell, he'd walk behind her for the rest of his life if he could.

She kicked the door open and started what would be an ending chapter in her former, ever so miserable life.

"Now, I might enjoy this a little more than I should

"Now, I might enjoy this a little more than I should." John bent down to look Jordan in the eyes. Her glorious ex boyfriend, the vampire, had been tied up to a kitchen chair. For a moment she had stood by the kitchen table, watching John circle the vamp. A trace of something fiendish on his face, it made her wonder if he had always been like this or if there was a trace of heaven, or hell in him.

"He killed my dog, back off." Lee grumbled, she knew that she wouldn't enjoy killing the man she had spent so many years with - but it was the only right thing. As she stood in front of Jordan she could see his old face, but she could also see the countless fangs that littered his mouth. With a heavy swing of her knife, his head sliced clean off. "Burn the body, will you?" She turned around, exiting the farmhouse before tears would dare to escape.

John found her sitting on the bed of the truck, her eyes turned towards the forest edge.

"It's done, princess."

"Why do you keep calling me that?" She didn't need to look at him to know that he walked straight up to her. He stopped in front of her, putting his arm around her in a protective manner.

"Because you're straight up regal, princess." He chuckled and kissed the side of her head.

"Shut up." She chuckled and looked up at him, their faces may never have been this close before. She could feel his breath on her face, the warmth of his body radiating through her and making her heart race a fraction faster.

Time stopped, or at least that was what it felt like. "Does that mean I get to call you grey fox all the time?" The ghost of a smile on her lips, she couldn't help her eyes from flickering to his lips. Surrounded by salt and pepper stubble.

"It could be interpreted wrong though." He cleared his throat, lungs void of air as it only came out as a whisper.

"Interpret it as you wish, fox." She grinned a little, yet it was weakly.

"Well.." He cleared his throat and stepped away from her for a moment. "We should probably find a motel.."
