Kyra awoke with the birds chirping, and soft green grass tickling her nose. She sat up naked, her cloths folded in a pile beside her. Sitting up she looked around, the sunlight dawned new rays through the willow roof of the oasis. Kyra looked around to see no one around her. " Tayana?" she called out. Quickly she reached for her tattered clothing, she stood up and slid the white dress over her body, and out fell a small piece of paper.  It read;

" Good morning love,

I hope you can read this, the ability to read is a rarity these days.

You are probably wondering why you are alone on this beautiful morning...

when we ourselves, fell asleep at each others comfort only last night.

Although  the night was the most beautiful I've had in ages, I could not be

by your side when you awoke. Something I should have told you, before we

made love, was tonight was my last night in Willow creek. I wish you luck

in your future, along with happiness.  Thank you for reminding me

what it felt like, to feel the excitement of new love again, beautiful Kyra.

        Until a new day,

                                      - Tayana Stinson. "

Kyra re-read the note Tayana left her. Her heart ached with every word as it replayed inside her mind. The only reason Kyra could read, is because Stefan taught her.. she might have bugged him for years to teach her...but he did. "Stefan...." Kyra said aloud. Her eyes shot up at the sound of gun fire. The exploding and frightful echo caused her to run and hide behind a tall rock near the thicket. No one would be able to see her body, shaded by the rocks shadow. Her breaths were short and tampered. Her eyes flickered and she clutched to the note. Peering around the rock, a couple ran through the small door created by the thicket, that Tayana had showed her. A young man and a younger girl, they looked to be 17 years of age or younger. She listened to them carefully.

" Jayce, We can't hide here. My father sold me to the merchant.!" The girl called out with light sobs. She had long black hair that reached her waist. She was short, and thin.

" Meeka, the guards won't ever find us here. The gods hide this oasis for the secret lovers who are trampled by the chaos of the modern world. The merchant won't find you here, and even if he did, I wouldn't let him take you."  The boy clutched the girl in his arms. Her hands threaded through his thick blonde hair that shagged over his ears. He was tall and strong, with a very soft face.

The sound of multiple lustful kisses. Kyra could feel their love in her heart. All she could think of was Stefan, and how she had been with Tayana.

Another gun shot was herd, rustling in the bushes and the crackling of branches.

" Oh Jayce! They're here!" The couple clutched each other and started crying. Kyra took a deep breath, Stefan would find her...or she would find Tayana. She couldn't let a young love like this be torn apart like hers had, she was to good.  The crackles were herd and the grunts of very angry men. Kyra stepped out of the shadows , she looked dreary towards the frightened couple, only to see the young girl looked to be around five months pregnant. Kyra's eyes filled with sadness. " Go hide behind the rock, I will step in as you, go live your lives and enjoy the love between you both. I will protect you. " The two immediately ran off without question.  The girl  let go of her boyfriends hand and called back quietly as Kyra stood strong and proud.
