Here is my best analogy on depression and suicidal tendencies.
I want you to imagine your in the middle of a scorching hot and barren desert. You are stranded Holding on to a small branch that branch being the only thing between you and a drop off of a cliff that would send you to a merciful death.
Of course for any normal person they would use that branch as leverage from a dangerous situation and bring yourself to the safe ground above am I right?
But you see for someone who struggles with depression it is not that easy for that safe ground we should rely on to carry us to safety is lit ablaze and is currently burning the branch and sizzling off our skin. So what are we to do?
Hang onto our one last piece of hope but suffer a long and painful death along the way.... Or do we let go peacefully falling.
For at the bottom of the cliff is pure uncertainty but we would choose an uncertain chance than withstand a hell on earth because who knows you could have a swift death at the end of the fall or maybe just maybe someone will be there to catch you.
