I turned to my left to face him. He was staring at me but I can't read what's in his head.

I don't know if its because of the alcohol sinking in my system or what but for a second, I thought I have alright put my guards down. Tears then started cascading my cheeks but I didn't bothered myself wiping it away. Instead, I stared back at him giving him a smile. A sad one. I miss this.

"Thank you." I said.

"For what?" he said, still drowning me with those deep dark orbs.

"For this." I said raising our intertwined hands. I'm not sure but I think I saw something in his eyes.

"Why would you--" he said trying to remove his hand from my grip as he faced the sea.

But before he could let go, I tightened my grip and started looking at the stars. The sky was peaceful yet so fascinating, just the way we love it.

"Don't you wanna know why I'm here?" I asked, eyes still glued on the night sky.

He remained silent but on my peripheral vision, I saw him turned his head to look at me, that was enough for me to know he's answer so I continued.

"'because I want to ask you why..." I almost whispered.

and even without saying it loudly, I knew he understood what I'm referring to.

"Does it really matter?" he said with a humorless chuckle.

"Yes" I choked between sobs, facing him who's now looking at me blankly.

"It won't change a thing." he uttered more likely to himself than to me.

As crazy as it sounds, I laughed. "oh believe me, it will."

"How can you be so sure?" he muttered, his voice challenging me.

"I'm not."I said earning a are-you-crazy-or-what look from him.

I shrugged, "I just want to know, before I go..."

Instead of answering, he gave me a questioning look while I'm struggling to keep my eyes open.

"I'm travelling around the world. And I'm never coming back."
