Percy's POV

I woke up feeling like my skin was on fire. My skin stung and my throat was as dry as sand. Last thing I remember some telekhines throwing lava on me and then there was an explosion. I should be dead after that explosion!

The pain I was in made me think that I was definitely not in Elysium but the weird thing was I could hear rustling trees and their smell was so sweet. I could smell juniper, cedar and a bunch of other plants that I didn't recognize. I could hear waves and even smell the ocean. I slowly opened my eyes a bit confused and a wary of what I might see.

I saw blue sky, clear blue sky unlike I have ever seen. I could see the trees surrounding me so atleast I wasn't dead. I wasn't dead and I was on quest, oh no I must find the others. I tried to sit up but it was like my body straight up refused and then reminded my why. Pain shot throughout my body, it felt like every single muscle I had was melting.

"Stay still", a feminine voice said. "You are still too injured to rise."

She laid a cool cloth on my forehead and fed me something by a bronze spoon that I could only guess was nectar. Then the girl's face appeared.

She had almond eyes and caramel hair braided to one side. She would have been fifteen or sixteen. She had one of those timeless faces that oozed natural beauty. She looked like she wasn't even trying to be beautiful but she just was. If I was to be honest she was even beautiful than the love goddess Aphrodite herself.

She then started singing and immediately I felt my pain reduce and my body started healing. I could feel the magic in her voice, literally. Her voice mixed with the smell of cinnamon that somehow surrounded her gave me the feeling of tranquility and warm, gentle hugs. As I began to feel a little better I managed to utter a word.

"Who"

"Shhh. Rest and heal brave one. No harm will come you here. I am Calypso." After that I drifted into sleep once again.

Over the course of days I found out that the island we were on was called Ogygia. It was a magical island that no one can find but the Gods and it was also her prison for supporting her father, Atlas in the first titan war. Oh how I hate that guy for killing Zoe but punishing her for so long was not right.

All she did was support her father and she has spent last three millennia in isolation as punishment. Now even though she realizes her mistake has been so peaceful, she wasn't going to be released any time soon.

She told me that time flowed differently on the island to she didn't know how much time I had spent there. She mostly healed me but sometimes showed me her garden and plants. I told her about my adventures, family and friends. I told her about Zoe and I told her about the war. I told her about the outside world and she seemed surprised by the advancements in the world outside. Her eyes sparkled and she listened intently when I talked.

Then the day came when I was healed and had to leave because I didn't want my responsibility to fall on Nico's shoulders. That guy has been through enough and I won't let the burden of this prophesy to fall on him if I can help it. She gave me a raft to sail away from there. I left her there even when she told me that no man can find Ogygia twice. She healed me, brought me back from the brink of death and I thanked her by leaving her on the beach crying. How cruel can the fates be?

As I sailed towards my destiny on the raft, I took out the moonlace flower she tucked in my T-shirt pocket. I looked at it and let a tear slip from my eyes as I remembered what she told me just before dawn.

Flashback

I got to the meadow after talking to Hephaestus. It was four or five in the morning, I saw Calypso still tending to her garden.

"Has he ordered you to return?" She guessed.

"Not ordered, more like offered me a choice."

She raised her head to look at me. "I promised I would not offer"

"Offer what?" I asked.

"For you to stay. You would be an immortal here. You would never age. You could escape the prophecy."

"But my friends"

She stood up and took my hand. Her touch was warm as she held my hand lightly. "You wanted to know about my curse, Percy." I remembered I had asked her but she refused to talk.

"I did not want to tell you but the truth is that the Gods send me companionship from time to time. Every thousand years or so they allow a hero to wash up on my shore. Someone that needs my help. I tend to them, befriend them but it is never random. The fates make sure that the sort of hero they send..."

Her voice trembled and I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.

"They send someone that can never stay", her voice was now so low that she was almost whispering. "Someone that can never accept my offer of companionship for more than a little while. Someone I can't help but...they send me a sort of person I can't help but fall in love with."

After that, I think I blacked out for a few minutes. I am just me, how could someone like her ever fall in love with me. I couldn't listen to anything she said after that. Although she did say something like fates were cruel and I would break her heart.

Flashback end

"I'll see you again Calypso. I promise." I whispered into the wind.
