"Oh Horn of Plenty.
Oh Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Oh Horn of Plenty.
Oh Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never fall...
Oh Horn of Plenty.
Oh Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Though dark may fall
Through darkness light will shine
As they believe
The darkness is the light
One Horn of Plenty for us all!"
I whoop and holler with joy as everyone crowds out of the training center of the Peacekeepers. I made it. I will be a Peacekeeper.

I was one of the lucky ones. I escaped the memory swipe by about a hairs width. Right after initiation all the newly trained Peacekeepers were called to the Department. One by one I watched each one of my colleagues, each one of my friends personality and disposition disappear like it was some kind of magic trick. They all received a new life where they would be loyal and forever willing to serve the President.
As I walked in the room I noticed a tall, well built man in his 20's. He had a large injection in his right hand and was twirling his pencil on his left. I could see the pain and worry in his eyes. He slowly looked up at me the moment I started to sit down in the chair.
"Vito, once we implant this memory wipe you will no longer have the life you had before. Once this happens your life will be full of service to the President where you will protect and keep peace always. Do you agree to the terms in this forever binding agreement?"
His voice sounded dull and full of loneliness, knowing that I could start a new life I accepted fully and happily.
"One last question."
What was this man doing? I needed all my pain and misery to wash away now and he's stalling me. My face starts to contort with pain and madness as I await this one question that I will soon likely to forget.
"Why did you join the Peacekeeper Society?"
I start to stutter as I say the words I know I should say.
"I want to d-d-devote my l-l-life to the country of P-p-anem."
"Vito, I can help you. All you need to do is to answer the question. Why did you join the Peacekeeper Society?"
I stare deep into his eyes and that was enough for me to tell the truth. I told him everything that happened to me. I tell him about Vanessa and the accident that occurred during the Wave Catastrophe. My heart pounds simultaneously with my heavy breathing. I anxiously await his response, afraid of what he may say.
"Avito, welcome to the Rebellion of Panem. Oh and by the way the name's Trent"
