Clem's POV
When everybody soon began to walk, something else from earlier came back to my mind..
Glenn.
I slowly turned around, looking in mostly unfamiliar faces, till my eyes stopped abruptly. A little further, behind everyone else, I saw his face, his soft features staring at me.
He looked shocked, confused, he probably thought the whole thing through..if it could really be me. When I held his gaze, a smile crept onto his face, getting bigger and bigger.
"Glenn!", I screamed excitedly, not caring right then and there.. Everyone stopped and turned around as Glenn began to sprint towards me, same did I.
He was right in front of me within seconds, pulling me into a huge bearhug, lifting my feet up in the air. He held me tight for a while till he let me onto the ground again. He grabbed my shoulders, staring into my face, tears in his eyes "You...You're..H-How can it be?! It's been so long......", he stuttered and I felt some tears well up in my eyes as well. "Five years..", I said sadly.
"Oh my god..", he pulled me into a hug again, arms tightly around my shoulders. "Wait....where's Lee?", he asked quietly, one hand stroking my hair after he'd spoken into it, like he still wasn't fully believing I'm here. It was the one question I was afraid of the most.. it hurt to hear his name, I haven't heard it from anyone in years, refusing to say it aloud myself, but I thought about it all the time. When I didn't say anything he stopped hugging me to search for an answer in my emotionless expression. I look to the ground then, closing my amber and golden ones..My eyes always betrayed me, now matter how cold the rest of my face looked, special people always saw my soul right through them it seemed..... After a few seconds I open them again, looking into Glenn's eyes and smiling sadly, then looking up into the sky. I never believed in god, or heaven..but when it came to Lee I knew he was up there somewhere, watching me with his warm smile that could make you feel so much better.. Glenn then grabs my chin carefully, moving my head so that I would look at him "I'm so sorry, love.", he says, his voice just above a whisper. I nod "..he saved me back then, gave his life for me. He actually saved me all the time..", I whisper the last part, looking at the ground, hating myself so much for that. If I wouldn't have been that stupid and selfish, going out there knowing we wouldn't have time for it, all of this wouldn't have happened and Lee would still be alive. Lee would still be alive. It rang in my ears like the worst realization ever and it actually truly was.Third Person
"Lee hates you. In fact everyone does. We all know your secret, Clem and there's no point in denying it.. Just do us all a favor and end that miserable story of yours, some would call life, right here." Clem blinks a few times, harder than she ever thought possible for a human being.. Did he really just say that? Or was she going crazy right now?!? But he was just right, wasn't he?? And she couldn't even blame them.... "What?" She asks insecure and hoarse. In fact she was sure she had never heard her own voice so small and breakable. "Are you alright Clem?? You look so pale, like you've just seen a ghost or something.. You wanna lay down honey? Rest a bit? It surely wouldn't do you any harm, Dale and T-Dog will take care of-" "No..no-no" she cuts Glenn off. "I'm great, just fine. Really.." She nods and smiles reassuring. Glenn gives a little worried and unconvinced look to the rest but then smiles at her. "Okay Clem.. Let's go then." He says as they continue to walk. Clem is in the back with Glenn and Daryl, following the group. "Hey" Clem says. "Hey" his gruff voice sounds back. "You..well, listen. What I said before, you know, when we were alone.. It probably wasn't the best thing to say and, ermm.....sorry..I..guess." She stammers, rubbing the back of her neck. It's been a while since she had those serious talks and all and she knows she's never been best at expressing her feelings, that her words can be harsher than she wants pretty often.. Well growing up in this world and being on your own a lot of the time just kinda forms you, there isn't that much space for emotional stuff. Clementine learned that the hard way, the dead streets raised her but she always tries to remember the wise words and advices of one man. His kind features which always seemed to soften because of her, the way he somehow always knew exactly what to do. Clem wished she had that ability too but most times she doesn't think that long about her actions, just does what her heart tells her is best, best to protect him. Her big mouth and bad language had gotten her into trouble more than once.. "Nah it's alright, I get ye girl." He responds and she smiles. A few minutes later, after Daryl had just cleared out a tent, suddenly some bells start ringing. Clementine's head shoots in the direction of the noise and with a "I know that place" she takes off. Rick and most folks shout after her but soon follow suit. Rick pretty much catches up to her, not that easily though. Damn. How fast is she? His mind speaks for him. "You really know where it comes from?" "Almost there.." She says just before getting there. A little church right in front of them. There in the middle of nowhere.. Bursting through the doors they get the attention of three corpses. Clem throws her knife and it ends up stuck in the eye of an pretty old and pretty dead guy. Rick had just snuck up on a woman, forcing his knife inside her skull and Daryl takes out the last one with a clean shot of his crossbow straight through the brain. "Nice job kid." Daryl says as he pulls out his arrow and her knife next. Just in time she catches Shane staring as she cleans her bloody knife on her jeans with- is that embarrassment in his eyes?! Maybe a little guilt.. She smiles satisfied and he quickly looks away, realizing he was being caught. Maybe he isn't that bad after all. We'll see.. She thinks, getting outside. Glenn approaches the rest of the group that is waiting outside. "It was a timer." He says. "Nobody rang 'em.." Carols face falls and she gets inside slowly, gasping because of the dead bodies. Clem sits on the front steps, waiting for the others who where inside, doing whatever. Probably praying or something.. Like said, Clem was never one for believing in god..or heaven for that matter, but she respected the ones who did. Sticking the knife into the wooden step and pulling it back out, she almost didn't hear the approaching steps. Almost. She grabbed the knife and held it defensively in front of her in one quick motion. Habit.....
"Alright I'll surrender." He mocked lifting his arms up in the air. Raising one eyebrow was all she did. It wasn't hard to figure her annoyed face out. "You can take it down now." He says in his shane-ish smartass way with a half smirk. Rolling her eyes she sticks it back into the hardwood. "What do ya want?" Clem doesn't bother looking at him as he sits down next to her. "Saying sorry for being a jackass." This pretty much catches her attention. "Seems like I had quite the wrong image of you princess." He gets up. What? Where does that come from now?! She was sure he did it to annoy her. "Stop it." "Can't tell watcha mean princess." He turns and smirks before fully walking away. "Now that was strange." She says before getting up as well. Okay, okay.. he isn't that bad. She smiles and shakes her head. "Somethin up girlie?" Gosh, those nicknames... Clem rolls her eyes. "Have seen that." He drawls. "Not much.. in there?" She asks. "Dunno. Never prayed before, not startin now." "Same here." She states. "Daryl?"
"Hm?" He turns around again. "We gonna find her." He looks her in the eyes, then at the ground and continues to walk away. In what condition is another question...So guys.. it's been a tiiiiimmeee.
