(Girl in the picture plays Casey)
"Lina! I've been calling, have you been busy?" I asked my sister down the phone as she finally picked up after calling for days.
"Hey Case! Yeah I've...um...been busy" She stuttered, I don't believe her.
"Lina, you okay? You know I can tell when you're lying" I was worried about her.
"Yeah I'm fine, just tired. I've been travelling a lot" she sighed, making me frown but I let it drop. I'll ask her again when I see her.
"Don't work yourself too hard, just take it easy and take a break if you need to. You know I'm here to help if you ever need it"
"Thanks Case, I gotta go, love you" she said before hanging up the phone.
"Love you too" I whispered to myself as I put my phone in my bag and walked into the small cafe to get my morning coffee before work.
While I was waiting in the line I couldn't help but think about Iliana.
I'm actually really worried about her, she's been really different lately, she seems down and upset, which is unlike her. I mean she's distant but not to me.
I practically raised Iliana myself, our parents were always working so they were never around. My first year of college, our parents got divorced, I worked so hard to buy a house for us because I wasn't having her sitting around them fighting all the time. She's my little sister, I have to protect her. I protected her from everything, I've had my fair share of fights with the guys who used to bully her, along with my fair share of bruises but I'm happy to say I always won, I took up martial arts at a young age, wanting to protect myself and Lina. I helped her start up her art gallery in Belgium, doing all the negotiating since she's a bit weary about talking to people she doesn't know. I'm a lot more outgoing than Iliana and incredibly stubborn, I always tried to get her to come out with me and my friends but she always declined, she came out once or twice but went home early as she just wasn't enjoying herself which is fair enough. To think we only live a few hours away by plane, we only see each other 3/4 times a year at F1 races, we both love the sport so we make a thing of it. Lina lives in Belgium with her boyfriend who she has been with for a few years now, and I live in Monaco with me, myself and I and my chow chow dog, snowball. Its weird to think that I would be married right now if my ex fiancé hadn't cheated on me for the whole 5 years we were together, we got together when we were 18 and broke up when I was 23 so I've been single for 4 years now. I've tried meeting people and go on dates but after what he did to me, I can't trust anyone, I'm scared of getting hurt again, I've learnt to close my heart.
"Good morning Casey, the usual?" Jemma, the barista asked me while smiling, taking me out of my thoughts. This is my local coffee shop so they all know me by now.
"Good morning Jemma, please" I smiled back at her.
She handed me my coffee and I payed for it before going to walk out of the shop.
As I was walking out, someone walked into me, making coffee go all down me.
"Watch were you're going idiot!" I shouted at the stranger.
"Well you were looking at your phone so you're really the only one to blame here" I heard the stranger say in an Australian accent.
I looked up and when I saw Daniel Ricciardo stood there, I was in shock.
"Well he does live in Monaco Case, so you can't be surprised" I told myself in my head.
"Oh I'm to blame? If I see correctly, you were on your phone so I think we're both to blame" I said sassily, looking down at my work clothes, my red shirt which now had a massive stain on it.
"Okay princess, I'll pay for your coffee and dry cleaning okay?" Is he seriously out sassing me?
"Don't bother, I have to get to work" I was angry, as anyone would be.
"Well at least let me get your number so I can eventually get you a coffee and dry cleaning?" He asked with that adorable smile.
"Fine, but that's all you're using it for" I held my hand out and he gave me his phone.
"Sure thing princess" he smirked as I typed my number in his phone and handed it back to him.
"What's your name by the way?" He asked me as I was about to walk away.
"Casey" I replied.
"I'm Daniel" He smiled at me, why is he so hot?!
"I know who you are, I'm an F1 fan, but I support Ferrari" I winked, walking away from him.
That was a lie, I'm a Red Bull and McLaren fan but he doesn't need to know that.
I arrived at the Porsche factory I work in after 10 minutes. I'm the Head of Engineering at Porsche and they based me in Monaco to get this new garage up and running and stay here for a few years (there's not a new Porsche factory in Monaco!).
"Case! Wow...what the hell happened to you?" Tony asked when he saw me.
"Thanks Tony, this is my new look, like it?" I rolled my eyes.
Jeez, I'm so sassy and got a really bad attitude I should tone it down.
"You need to tone the attitude" he laughed, knowing exactly what I was thinking.
"Yeah yeah, I will" I waved him off laughing as I walked to my office.
I sat at my desk and let out a sigh. I stood up again and changed my shirt, thankfully having another in my office.
I heard my phone go off, I looked at the screen and saw an unknown number, I frowned but answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Daniel. I just wanted to tell you that I'll see you at the cafe tomorrow to buy you the coffee I owe you" I could hear the smirk through his thick accent.
"Oh have you just decided that I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked
"I guess so yeah, I'll be there at 8 so if you decide to turn up then that will say it all" he laughed lightly and I got a little flutter of butterflies.
"We'll see. Now I have to work, bye Daniel" I laughed, hanging up the phone before he could answer.
Just as I saved his number and put my phone on my desk, I got a text.
From: Daniel
See you at 8am 😉 x
