At the end of the day, Shayden walked out of the school and looked around the parking lot. Had James left her again? Man, he should be voted as the best friend of the Year she thought to herself as she rocked back and forth, from her heels to her toes. She wondered what she was going to do and how she was going to get home. "Shayden Jones," she heard from behind her. She sighed in an annoyed voice. She turned around to face Johnny.

"Yes, Johnny?" she asked.

"Do you need a ride?" he asked. After looking at the parking lot he added, "it looks like what's his butt left you, again." Although she wanted to argue with him she realized that she couldn't really argue, because he was right. Right when she was about to say yes she realized he always drove his bullet bike to school, which means he most likely rode it to school to school today.

"Nah, it's fine," Shayden replied as she shook her head.

"Shayden Jones, you need a ride. I'm taking you home," he announced before grabbing her wrist and pulling her to his bullet bike. He hopped on his bike and patted the seat behind him. She rolled her eyes before hopping on the back.

"Do you have a helmet?" Shayden asked, hoping that he would say yes.  He nodded his head before hopping off of the bike and going to the back. He opened up a compartment and pulled out two helmets. He placed a helmet in her hands before putting his on and sliding on the bike. "this may be a stupid question, but where do I hold on. There are no handles or anything," Shaden said. Johnny laughed for a solid minute before composing himself.

"You have to hold onto me," he replied. She sighed but reluctantly wrapped her arms around his waist. When Johnny started his bike Shayden jumped slightly. Her heart started to race as he raced out of the parking lot. He revved his engine after getting out of the parking lot and onto the road. As he drove Shayden held onto him and gave him directions to her house. When they finally got to her house she thanked him before walking to her front door. She unlocked the door and went in. When she turned around as she shut the door she noticed that he was watching her. She waved at him. He nodded at her before speeding away. She shut the door and walked up to her room.

"Shayden Jacklynn Jones! Get down here!" Shayden's dad, Madden, yelled from downstairs. Shayden jumped up off of her bed and ran down her stairs so fast that she almost biffed it. When she finally reached the living room her dad was standing there with his arms folded across his chest. "where is your mother?" he asked with a displeased look on his face.

"I'm not sure, Dad," Shayden replied before wiping her eye. Her dad grabbed her wrist and threw it down.

"I asked you a question, don't show disrespect to me! WHERE IS YOUR MOTHER?!" he demanded with a tone that would make most kids shake in their shoes. Shayden shook her head.

"I don't know where she is," Shayden said calmly. As if Shayden's mom could read minds she walked through the door as her husband raised his hand up to Shayden.

"I'm home!" Giana, Shayden's mom, yelled from the door. Shayden's dad glared at her before he left the living room. She breathed a sigh of relief. She couldn't help but feel grateful. She didn't know what was about to happen, but she did know that it could have gotten bad really quick.

"You're dismissed!" her dad informed her. She nodded before standing up and running out of the living room and up the stairs. When she reached her room she shut her door and went to her bed. No matter how much she stood her ground in front of her dad she couldn't stay strong as soon as she was alone. She shoved her face into her pillow and started to cry. She muffled her crying in her pillow, mostly because if her dad heard her crying she would be punished.

After Shayden was done crying she got up and went to her bathroom. The first thing to go was her makeup. She walked over to her sink and washed off her makeup. After drying off her face she cringed at the look of her face. Not only were there huge bags under her eyes, but her left eye was still bruised from her dad hitting her last week. After throwing her hair into a messy bun she stripped down and got into the shower. This is the only place where she was 'entitled' to be alone, but anywhere else in her house was free game. Her parents could walk in at any time and get mad at her, or punish her, but the shower was her time. A time that she had no worries. After washing her hair she got out and wrapped a towel around herself. She walked into her room and got dressed in pajamas. After blow-drying her hair she walked out of her bathroom and laid on her bed. She didn't know what to do, she wasn't tired and she didn't have any homework tonight so she decided to lay there. She plugged her headphones into her phone and played her Spotify playlist.
