Once Upon A Solar Flare- A Supergirl Fanfic (COMPLETED)

The Fight of all Fights

Kara POV:

"Kara! Where are you?" I hear Alex say through my radio.

"There's a robbery at the bank, I'm heading there now."

"Alright, be careful. J'onn and I will meet you there."

"Alex, I don't need you to, I'm fine."

She doesn't respond. That means that she is coming. She always does that.

When I arrive at the bank I immediately know that it isn't any normal robbery. It's an alien attack.

"Um, Alex, I may need backup."

"We're way ahead of you." I hear J'onn say next to me.

This escalated quickly. It went from a simple bank robbery to a full on alien attack. J'onn and I are in the air trying to fight off ten of them. But, it shouldn't last much longer, as long as they don't pull any tricks.

Then out of no where ten more appear.

"J'onn they're multiplying!"

"I'll take the ones over here, and you take those!" He orders.

I start flying around them, and attempt to punch them all. But no such luck. Whenever I get close enough to punch them, they multiply.

"Kara, what's going on up there?" I hear Alex say through my radio.

"They're multiplying. This may take a while."

"Kara, be careful."

I've figured it out. The only way I can attack them from a distance is to use my heat vision. Hopefully they won't multiply even more. It's getting overwhelming.

I shot the alien in front of me with my heat vision. He stumbles before multiplying yet again.

"You have got to be kidding me!" I shout angrily.

"Kara, calm down it's alright. You've got this. Don't worry about it." Alex says trying to calm me down.

"Alex, they won't stop multiplying. I... I need you to call Kal-El."

"Kara, you don't need his help. You are just as strong as he is. Just take a deep breath and try something else."

"But Alex I can't think of anything else! I need him."

"Kara. You are the strongest person I know, and the smartest. You just need to think. What have you tried already?"

"Um, my... My heat vision, my strength, but none of them worked!"

"Kara calm down. Think. I know you, you never give up."

"Wait! My freeze breath! The heat was probably just aiding to their ability to multiply! The freeze breath while stop that, hopefully."

"There you go. I knew you knew what to do. Now get back to work!" Alex says.

I quickly use my freeze breath on one of them and they fall to the ground, unable to fly anymore.

Soon, I only have a few left. But I start feeling weak. What's going on? There isn't any kryptonite around, or I don't think there is.

"J'onn, do you see any kryptonite?" I ask.

"No... Why?"

"I feel weird."

"It could be built into their skin. Move away, I don't want you to get more exposure."

I fly a foot back before using my freeze breath once again.

As we continue battling these multiplying aliens it gets increasingly harder. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I get more exhausted with each breath I take.

"Kara, are you alright?" Alex asks.

"I... I'm out of breath."

"Wait, like actually, or are you just tired?" She asks with fear in her voice.

"Sorry, just tired. Give me a second." I say trying to catch my breath.

A few seconds later I refocus my attention to the multiplying alien. Soon there's only one left. He retreats closer to the ground and I follow him.

As I continue using my freeze breath I can tell something isn't right. This feeling seems familiar in a way. I just can't name it. What's going on?

As I'm about to hit the final blow to the alien he flies farther up in the air. I quickly follow him, but it takes me longer than usual. I'm about to finish him off but I suddenly feel really dizzy. I try and use my freeze breath to finish this quickly, but nothing happens.

Next thing I know I'm falling through the air. The ground comes closer and closer. I try and fly back up but I can't. Then it hits me.

I blew out my powers.

"Alex!" I shout suddenly scared for my life.

"Kara! Fly up, what are you doing?!"

"I... I can't! I... I think I blew out my powers."

"It's alright, stay calm." She says but I can tell she's scared.

I see the ground coming closer and closer to my face. I start crying in fear. This can't be it! Can it?

I always thought I was invincible. But I'm not. No one can be truly invincible.

Just as I'm about to hit the ground I close my eyes. Then suddenly I feel myself being caught. I open my eyes to see J'onn with worry written all over her face.

"Kara!" Alex shouts before engulfing me into a big hug.

I hug her back as I feel tears sliding down my face. I continue giving Alex a large hug, knowing that it's calming her down. Even though I was the one on the verge of death I know that she was scared to death. I love her, and I know that in order for her to do her job properly she needs to be calmed down.

"Alex? Can... Can we go to the DEO? I'm scared that something more serious is wrong."

"Of course. Come on, I'll drive you back." She says putting her arm around my shoulder and leading me over to the car.

I know something is wrong. I don't feel right. But I know telling Alex would only worry her even more. So I need to keep this feeling secret.

If you haven't seen the season 3 fall finale yet beware of spoilers ahead.
I got the idea of her falling from the fight with Reign (or World Killer whichever name you prefer 😬) And the whole Alex being scared to death was also loosely based on the ending when Alex came running to Kara's side as soon as she fell. And I do have a question for all of you. I thought, thanks to her kryptonian DNA, that Kara was unable to bleed. If this is true why was she bleeding after she was hit?
