Once Upon A Solar Flare- A Supergirl Fanfic (COMPLETED)

Kara POV:

I wake up feeling weird. In fact I think weird would be an understatement. My head is pounding with, what did Alex call it? A headache, yeah my head is pounding with an awful headache. My stomach feels weird, and each time I swallow I get an unbearable pain in my throat.

"Hey, Kara. What's wrong?" Alex asks as she walks into the bedroom.

"I... I feel really weird. And it's more than the, um, headache?"

"Alright, it's gonna be alright. Can you tell me what hurts?" She asks going full on doctor.

"My... My head, stomach, and throat. What's wrong with me?"

"It's alright, it's gonna be alright. I do however think that we need to bring you back to the DEO."

"But..."

"Kara. No buts."

"It'll be over the moment I get my powers back. Let's just wait until then."

"Kara Zor-El. Under no circumstances are we waiting until your powers come back. We are going to the DEO whether you like it or not."

"Alex! I'm fine! Stop worrying so much!"

My argument would of been much more convincing if I didn't break into a coughing fit after I said it. Alex gently rubs my back and hands me a glass of water.

"Come on, let's get you into the car."

I give up fighting her and gently nod my head. She helps me up, and I lean on her as we walk towards her car. She helps me into the passenger seat before getting into the drivers seat. She quickly starts the car and we begin the 30 minute drive to the DEO.

10 minutes into to the 30 minute drive I start feeling nauseous. I put my hand on top of Alex's hand trying to signal her that something is wrong.

"Kara? What's wrong?"

"Nauseous." Is all I can manage to say before I place my hand over my mouth.

Alex quickly pulls to the side of the road and reaches into the backseat. She quickly hands me a paper bag and holds my hair for me. A few minutes later my lunch makes a reappearance. Alex rubs my back and tells me that it's going to be alright. I'm really glad she's with me. I don't know what I would do without her here.

When we get to the DEO I have to lean into Alex's side. We manage to make it in without another episode of me vomiting.

"Agent Danvers, Supergirl, what's wrong?" J'onn asks when we approach him.

"She's worse. She woke up with an upset stomach, and a sore throat. And she just threw up on the way here."

"Ugh, well Kara, you know the drill. To the solar bed."

"Ugh, you know I hate it."

"I know you do, but we need to stop this solar flare."

I let Alex lead me into the med bay and she helps me onto the solar bed.

"Just rest Kara, I'll be here when you wake up."

I wake up a few hours later feeling awful. What's wrong with me? Every inch of my body hurts. I slowly turn my head, looking for Alex, only to find that she isn't here.

I lie back down, wrap my arm around my upset stomach, and wait for Alex. Different doctors come check on me, but I lie and say that I'm fine. I always ask where Alex is, but they never answer.

After an hour of waiting I slowly stand up and make my way out of the med bay. It takes longer than usual, but I eventually make it over to J'onn who's standing near the computers talking to someone over the comms.

"J'onn?" I croak.

"Kara! You should be back in bed. What's wrong?"

"Where's Alex?"

"Oh, um... She had to go out."

"What do you mean?"

"Ugh, I'm not supposed to be telling you this... There's a rouge alien on the loose."

"What?! And Alex is out there alone?!"

"Look, she's fine. You can look for yourself." He says motioning to the screen.

I glance up at the screen only to see Alex struggling. Blood all over her face. Obviously in pain.

"J'onn! Look at her! She needs help!" I shout on the verge of tears.

"Ok, hey calm down, I'll go right now."

"Can... Can I come with?"

"I know you won't stop asking until I say yes, so come on."

He grabs onto me before flying towards Alex.

The moment J'onn lands I look around for Alex. I catch sight of her, lying on the ground, with the alien unconscious a few feet away from her.

"J'onn you get the alien, I've got Alex." I say as I run over to Alex.

"Kara?" She asks when I reach her.

"Hey, it's okay." I say as I brush her hair out of her face.

"Are you okay? You don't look to good." She asks.

"I'll be okay, nothing I can't handle. Right now I'm just worried about you."

That was a lie. I can't handle this. I feel even worse, but I can't let Alex know that. Although I am more worried about Alex.

"Kara, I'm okay, it's only a few cuts and bruises."

"Alright, but you do realize that J'onn, and I, are going to make Dr. Hernandez check you out. Right?"

"Yeah, I know. And you're going to lie back under the solar bed."

"Fine. But we need to get you in bed, I'm worried about you."
