"So, are you excited?" I ask as I turn to the headboard and cover my eyes. Because he hasn't gotten the surgery yet, Parker's still insecure about his body and this has become a routine over the years. I respect his choices and allow him to get dressed without being uncomfortable.

"I am ecstatic," he says flatly. "Just a bit-" he interrupts himself with a yawn. "-tired."

"Aw, I'm sorry," I say with a pout.

He sighs. "It's not like it's your fault. You know I can't sleep well because of my sinuses." I can hear the exhaustion stringing out his words.

"Yeah, baby, I know."

"You can turn around now," he says softly.

I uncover my eyes and turn around to see Parker in athletic sweatpants, you know the type, with one of my hoodies. I stand and wrap my arms around his waist.

"Handsome as ever, my prince," I murmur, grabbing his hand and kissing the top.

He blushes and mumbles, "shut up." He acts like he hates it but he and I both know he loves it.

I glance at the clock and it reads 10:45. "Let's go, babe, we have to be there by eleven fifteen for check in."

"But we don't have to be there for another thirty minutes," he whines.

"You can be late to this life changing day, if you want..."

"Ugh, fine. You're lucky I love you," he says, already grabbing his shoes and heading for the door.

"As always, baby boy."

I swear, I can make this boy break into the cheesiest grins sometimes.
