"Flight 182, to New York City, New York leaving in 10 minutes."
Casey heard the voice on the intercom speak as she grabbed her suitcase with all her important clothes & belongings behind her at the airport. There were so many crowds of people ready to get to their flights. She turned around & looked at her mother & Lizzie for one last time, until she would come visit them again in the future.
One day.. she thought to herself as she could feel the tears form in her eyes. This was one of the hardest goodbyes she had to say. Even harder when she had to move into the Venturi household & leave behind her friends in Ontario. Casey hated parting from the ones she loved. Especially Lizzie & Nora.
She ran as fast as she could to the both of them & they exchanged farewell hugs as her mother wiped a tear away from her eyes. Lizzie didn't cry but she frowned knowing she would miss Casey around. Liz decided not to leave London when her mother asked her because she honestly did get along with the Venturi's & she already was comfortable with the life she had here. She wasn't ready for another change again after leaving Ontario. She understood that Derek & Casey wouldn't get along if they lived together any longer though, so she didn't question Casey's decision on leaving. Lizzie knew the things Derek said to Casey pushed her to this limit of leaving & she wanted what made her sister happy. She hoped nothing but the best.
They all finally let go of the group hug & Casey looked at her mother speaking her final words to her before they departed.
"I'm going to miss you mom... thank you for everything you've done for me. I love you...." Casey's tears starting forming at her eyes as it made Nora cry even more. Nora smiled in tears as they gave one last hug to each other.
"If you ever need anything Casey, I'm one call away. I know your father will take good care of you. I love you too. No matter where you are, I'll always be there with you. I'll miss you so much..Please be safe. " Casey hugged her mother for a long time. Realizing how thankful she was to have such a understanding mother. It would be hard to live life without Lizzie & Nora, but she would eventually leave them someday. Casey then looked at Lizzie & spoke her final words before her flight would be taking off.
"Lizzie, if you ever need me. Please give me a call. I'll always be here no matter how far I go. Don't forget that I'll always be your older sister. Even if that means we're million miles away..... Listen to mom okay? Do good in school & don't forget, I love you..." Lizzie smiled and quickly hugged Casey goodbye. She never knew that Casey would mean so much to her. It would be hard to separate from her only sibling she ever had.
"Casey, I'll miss you too. I promise if I need anything I'll call you. Please take care of yourself sis... say hi to dad for me please..."
Both Nora & Lizzie watched Casey get on the airplane. They both waved as Nora cried very hard with her puffy eyes. Seeing your daughter separate & grow up was difficult. She loved her oldest daughter so much but she knew she was in good hands & had to leave the nest one day. Lizzie smiled, knowing Casey would be with their father. She couldn't wait to hear how it would be like to live with their dad. It was so long since they had divorced & Lizzie was excited for Casey. She knew the house would be quiet since there was no more quarreling between Derek & Casey but she was happy Case could get a new start in life. How exciting it must be to live in a busy, well known city such as New York!
As Casey arrived inside the plane, she sat at the seat near the window. She wanted to look at the City of London, Ontario one last time. This was it...
Goodbye London she thought to herself.
She already had said her farewell's to Emily & her counselor Paul. She thanked them for everything they had done for her. She smiled knowing she got to meet them two & all the times they were there for her when she needed them. Emily said that Casey can text her anytime because they will remain best friends no matter where they go. It made Casey smile as she laid her head against the window.
"Flight 182, departing now."
The plane started moving as Casey looked out the window on the right of her. As the plane started taking flight out in the sky, the city of London looked smaller & smaller. Just like little ants. Casey felt a sense of sadness but excitement to experience a fresh new start. Leaving behind everything she knew here. New York City... here we come. Casey closed her eyes as the plane ride made her drowsy. She thought to herself, when I wake up... I'll be there. She drifted away in her thoughts as she fell asleep on the plane.

Derek had just came home from school. He noticed Casey wasn't there today though. She didn't go to school today nor has he talked to or seen her ever since last weeks incident. She didn't come to dinner & she had not even said a word to him when they passed each other in the hallways at school & home.
"Oh well" he thought to himself knowing he was happier she didn't bother him anyways. As he opened the front door, he first noticed Nora crying on the sofa & Lizzie comforting her as Nora sobbed.
"What's with the waterworks Nora? You alright? & Liz you didn't go to school?" Derek questioned as he threw his backpack on the floor & sat in his living room seat. This was weird, Nora usually doesn't cry like this. Must be something that happened at work. He grabbed the controller & browsed the channels to the sports section.
Nora sniffed a few times before she spoke & wiped her tears with her handkerchief .
"I'll be okay.. Casey's a big girl now.." Nora spoke quietly folding the cloth in her hands. Glancing at the floor feeling depressed.
"Mom it'll be okay. She'll be fine, don't cry... Casey will call us when she gets there.. she'll come back again someday.." Liz reminded Nora while rubbing her back as comfort. Derek was honestly confused. He raised an eyebrow. What are they talking about? Where did Casey even go?
"Where's Casey?" Derek questioned while looking at the hockey game that just started to run. They made it seem like she was gone forever. Yeah right.
"She flew this morning to New York to live with my dad." Lizzie explained as Edwin was opening the door to discover the news. He did not expect to hear this after such a long day at school. Derek also shocked to hear this. He turned to look at Edwin as he noticed his presence.
"WHAT CASEY IS GONE?" Edwin said in shock as he slowly put his jacket on the coat rack & looked at Derek confused. He ran over as soon as he heard she moved to New York.
"Yes. We dropped her off at the airport this morning.." Nora said as she looked very unhappy. She thought about how much she already missed her so much. Lizzie gave a frown as she kept comforting her mother.
"Why didn't she say anything?!" Edwin asked confused at Casey's sudden actions. It's not like he would miss her but he was just stunned at the fact that it was all so sudden & without any notice. When did she even pack?
"It was because she asked me to keep it personal between me, George & Liz. She didn't want anyone to know." Nora explained sadly. She looked at Derek cause she knew he was the reason why she decided to move so soon.
"Well that's great! I can get her room then! & Marti or Edwin can have mines!" Derek exclaimed in happiness as he discovered the news of Casey being gone. Yes! He thought as things would go his way around the house from now on. No more annoying Casey to bother him or try to overthrow his authority anymore. He exclaimed & cheered in happiness as he went to his room. Finally, Casey is gone. Derek had never been happier then this. What a relief.
"Wow that's harsh don't you think?" Lizzie stared at Derek going up the stairs then asked Edwin as Nora went back to crying again.
"Very. But that's the great Derek Venturi for ya." Edwin shrugged in reply to Lizzie as he went to the kitchen to get something to drink. Hey at least he would get a nice room & now stay in the room that was once owned by Derek. Life was going to get better from now on for everyone, especially Derek. Or so he thought.
