"You are such an asshole!""Says the bitch herself!" Lindsey spat back at her, Stevie's eyes widening.
Mick hung his head in his hands, sighing heavily. "Jesus Christ it's like rumors all over again."
John nodded, watching the two argue in front of him.
They had just started rehearsals for the new tour, and within minutes they were at each other's throats.
"Don't you ever call me that again!"
Lindsey rolled his eyes. "Get off your high horse Stevie."
Mick intervened. "Would you two grow up? I'd like to get some actual rehearsal in today."
Stevie shot daggers at Lindsey, taking a deep breath and stepping up to the microphone.
Mick was satisfied, counting them in to The Chain.
Everything was going smoothly until they got to the chorus, Stevie and Lindsey practically screaming at one another through the lyrics.
Mick stopped, cutting them all off.
Stevie let out a huff of air, irritated. "Why'd you stop?"
Mick shook his head. "This isn't working, we'll have to do this tomorrow."
"Why not do it now?" She argued with him.
"Because you two are acting like fucking children. Take the night off to cool yourselves off and we'll regroup tomorrow."
"Fine by me." Lindsey huffed himself, setting his guitar in it's stand. He stormed off the stage, shoving past Stevie when he passed her.
Stevie starred after him in disbelief, she started marching after him, feeling herself being pulled back. She glanced over her shoulder seeing Christine, who was shaking her head.
"Save your energy love."
Stevie sighed, nodding in agreement. "Karen?" She called for her assistant.
"Yes Stevie?"
"Will you get Sulamith? I need some air."
Karen nodded, following Stevie's request.
Stevie took the time to go to the restroom, splashing cool water over her face.
When had they become so hateful towards each other?
The last time they had seen each other things were perfect. Today, he'd made a comment on her vocals, setting the storm.
She sighed, shaking her head. "Jack ass."
She left the restroom, praying to a higher power she wouldn't run in to Lindsey on her way out.
..........
The three brits had gathered at the hotel bar, unwinding after a tedious rehearsal.
Mick had his head slumped in his hands, already on his fourth beer. "This tour is going to be fucking hell."
Christine nodded in agreement, taking a sip of her wine. "You can say that again."
