chapter 3 - the walking duplicate

—The next day—
i awoke to the sound of birds singing a wonderful melody. quite quickly, i noticed that it was already 9am. why the hell did i sleep for so long? the next thing i found myself doing was getting dressed and rushing around my room. i wore a white top that said "bonjour bitches" along with ocean blue shorts. i looked in the mirror. "ugh, i really need a makeover" i said to myself

i ran downstairs and found mum in the kitchen; cooking breakfast. "mmm" i said. "smells delicious". "and it will taste delicious too" mum added. i walked over to the stove to see what she was making. a full english breakfast. yum. "mum..." i started. "could you take me to town today?" "honey i'd love to but i can't today. i need to sort some stuff out with the house" she replied. "oh. ok." i said back slightly upset. i really needed some new clothes. all my clothes look like trash compared to some people's i've seen. and plus, i wanna make a good impression to the people living here. i wanna not be the ugly trash can for once.

i finished breakfast and then headed outside to throw the rubbish away. i saw Harvey as i walked out so i decided to start a conversation with him. i mean, there's nothing wrong with trying to be friendly, right? and plus, i wanted to make some friends before i started school.

"harvey!" i shouted. he turned around and smiled. "hey" he said. i walked closer to him. "i was wondering if you could show me around? it's fine if you can't. i know we're not even friends but i'd love to get to know you better" he smirked and replied "i'd love to". at that moment, i swear i could see a reflection of harvey in one of his house's windows. i looked at him, then at the windows. then again. i rubbed my eyes and he wasn't in the reflection anymore. "maybe it's just me imagining things" i thought. "cool." i replied to harvey. "when would you be able to?" i eagerly asked. "well, we can go now if you want. i just need to go inside and get changed". "ok." i said as he went inside.

after about 3 minutes he came out. "wow. that was fast!" i kinda shouted. "what do you mean Lily?" he said really confused. "Harvey. you literally just told me that you are going inside to get changed so you can show my around." "i told you what?" he asked. i repeated my sentence. was he playing a game or something? because i really am not liking it. "oh you must've talked to my twin max. he should've introduced himself, i'm sorry about him" i was gobsmacked. "2 hella fine boys living next to me?! oh my god" harvey laughed. "you think we're fine?" he asked" "shit. what? did i just say that out loud?" shit. shit. shit. i messed up so bad. what if he thinks i'm weird? omg. "yeah" harvey says whilst blushing. i feel my face go tomato red. what have i just done...
