Chapter 2

Lexi’s POV

My bike and I were waiting across the street from my old home in Miami. It looked as though no one had been there in months; the paint on the house was chipped and looked rustic, ivy was growing up the walls and inside was dark no sign of anybody. I’m guessing my parents decided to abandon the house once Derrick and I had left then. I wonder where they have gone...

I decide to go inside and check things out for myself. Everything seemed the same as before I left except small layers of dust coated the furniture everywhere and there was a lack of warmth in the house. All the food in the fridge was gone and the pots and pans in the cupboards gone. Upstairs everything left of Derrick’s room was still there including the picture of me and him smashed on his bed. Sigh, I guess they never cared about him like I did.

My bedroom look huge compared to normal due to the lack of furniture in there, my bed and drawers were missing including all the clothes I left here when I went away. All my posters and photographs on my walls were ripped or missing and my mirror smashed. Someone must have been in here after I left and been very angry at me being gone, probably not my parents, but who?

I took off my leather jacket and sat down on my floor and lit up a cigarette creating some warmth in the room. I took out my cellphone and dialled Drake’s number. I hope he will answer me this time.

“You’ve reached Drak- Sup?” Came the voice I’ve missed all this time but it sounded a lot rougher than usual.

“Oh, Drake hey it’s Lexi” I replied suddenly feeling very nervous and anxious. I took a puff from my cigarette trying to make myself feel better.

“Lexi, where you been girl? We haven’t heard from you, are you there yet?” Drake asked rather quickly sounding worried.

“What do you mean you haven’t heard from ME! I’ve tried calling you but none of you asses would pick up!” I felt angry at his response, I mean they haven’t spoken or replied to me in 6 months, the nerve he has to ask me that. From this I accidently burnt myself on my cigarette. Fuck that hurt.

I heard a lot of rustling in the background. “Lex, is that you? We’ve missed you! You’re now on loud speaker by the way haha” I heard all at once from Ricky, Charlie and Roy.

“Guys why haven’t you been answer my calls? I’ve had no contact from you.”

“Sorry Lex, we’ve had big gang business recently this is the first time we’ve been allowed to relax properly otherwise we would’ve totally called you.”

“Why does Drake sound a lot rougher than usual what has he been doing?” I asked and put my cigarette out.

“Oh well you see Lex, he’s missed you an- AHHH! I’m sorry I didn’t mean to tell her she just sounds upset.” I’m guessing Drake was now beating up Charlie for saying that haha.  “Guys I’ve got great idea, come listen. Hold on Lex we’ll be right back”

I could hear them whispering about driving in the background but had no idea what these crazy guys were on about.

“Lex it’s decided seeing as were close to you at the moment on business in Atlanta, that we’re going to come and stay with you for a while and catch up we need to party so we’ll be there in 2 days!” Said Roy

“And Lexi, be ready for me when I get there, I've missed you and your body” Purred Drake seductively. Then the line cut off I guess they really are busy but I can’t wait for when they get here I will be great to party after 6 months.

I need to get this house sorted out then in 3 days before the guys come. Hopefully I can keep out of sight from any of my old pack members and family in this time. First off I needed to get some food I was so hungry and werewolves need to eat a lot so I think I will go to the diner first then get some groceries afterwards.

I picked up and put on my leather jacket and ran downstairs to my motorbike. I started up the engine and put my helmet on in case pack members noticed me which I doubt after my makeover and head off to the diner, I was starving. Luckily it was 9pm at night so there were little people in the diner at this time.

I sat down in a corner booth facing the window away from the other people in the diner. I looked around it and fortunately I didn’t notice anyone I knew in here so I was safe, for now. I ordered the diners famous double stack cheeseburger with a large side of fries. I was so delicious it just melted in my mouth perfectly with all the flavours, ah how I’ve missed this. Once finished I sped off on my motorbike to Wal-Mart for my groceries.

There were still quite a few wandering around it at this time, maybe late night shopping I thought. I picked up all the essentials needed for me and for the guys when they get here. I was picking up some liquor for me and the guys as pre-drinks for when we go out as I had a fake i.d I would use, most of the trolley consisted on liquor actually looking at it, I heard a familiar voice I was hoping I wouldn’t.

“Yo Alex did you bring your i.d I need to get some booze?” Shouted Liam one of my brother’s old friends who I hadn’t seen since I left.

“Yeah man I got it” Alex replied, who I was dreading to see the most as he used to tease me all the time with Derrick and Liam but he was so gorgeous I used to have a small crush on him in middle school.

I knew they were heading my way as I could hear their footsteps so I grabbed all the booze I could and legged it towards the cashier. Hopefully I had everything I needed otherwise I would send the guys here when they turn up. I then packed it all into my motorbike and drove off back home.

Alex’s POV

Me and Liam were at Wal-Mart picking up some groceries for the pack, I also had to buy extra as we took in Clarise and Taylor once Derrick and Lexi left, to this day nobody knows why they left and whether they would be coming back at all. Once they settled into our home they decided it would be best if they gave over the alpha title to me as I was old enough being 20 and they were too devastated to run anything properly and decided they would fix their marriage instead.

“Yo Alex did you bring your i.d I need to get some booze?” Shouted Liam at me.

“Yeah man I got it” I replied.

There was a strange smell coming from the isle next to us but I didn’t what would be causing it.

“Hey Liam stop, can you smell that?” I whispered quietly.

“Yeah, let’s go check it out".

We followed the smell to the liquor isle however, there was nothing down there which was strange. Maybe there was another werewolf in town, hmmm...

"Alex man there's nothing here, maybe we should just head home and talk to the others about it?" Liam asked.

"Yeah sure, lets just take this food to the cashier" I replied.

I will definitely have to talk to Taylor and Clarise about the smell.
