Chapter 9

Cece
I dropped James off to daycare. I have a job interview. I am excited. Its been a while since I've been working. I drove to the medical plaza. I parked in the closest parking space to the dentist office. I got out of my car and smoothed out my grey pencil skirt. I ran my fingers through my ponytail. I'm hella nervous.

I waited for the interviewer to say something. He hammered me with so many questions. I think I did good.
"See you on Monday." He said. I wanted to scream so badly but I had to keep my composure. I walked out of the office and got in my car. I screamed. I can't believe I landed this job. I drove to the mall and bought some more work clothes. Asia was the one who bought this grey skirt suit for me. I need more work clothes.

Raniqua
Shayne and I decided that our colors will be white and gold. I can't wait to marry him. Felicia walked in my room. She looked so sulky.
"You good?" I asked.
"No." She replied.
"Its okay. We will get your restaurant fixed."
"What about Tracy? And Lawrence bitch ass."
"We will deal with Tracy. Lawrence can suck on a dick."
"How are we gonna deal with Tracy?"
"I don't know yet but something will happen."
"Okay."
"Now do you want me to find a better electrician?"
"Yes please."
"Okay. I will call up a cousin when I'm done putting this together."
"Okay thanks."
"No problem."
Felicia hugged me and went back in her room. I feel bad for her. She is the only other one who has her shit together and Tracy fucked it up. My phone rang. Cece is calling me.
"Hey girl." I said.
"Hey let me add Asia to the call." She replied.
"Hello hoes." Asia said.
"Hold on let me get Felicia." I said.
"Felicia!" I shouted.
She ran in the room. I put my phone on speaker.
"Okay girls." I said.
"I landed a job." Cece said.
"I'm so proud of you!" Asia said.
"Congrats." I said.
"Proud of you." Felicia said.
"Ladies I have an announcement." Asia stated.
"What is it?" Cece asked.
"I'm pregnant." Asia said.
"Bitch what?" Felicia asked.
"Yeah I just found out." She said.
"Girls I gotta go pick up James." Cece said.
"Byeee!" We said at the same time.
"Anyways Zion is coming over I will see y'all tomorrow for brunch." Asia said.
"Okay." I replied.
The call ended.

Asia
Zion rubbed my feet. I'm not even showing yet and he's already being amazing. I think we should start preparing for the baby. Like pampers and stuff.
"Baby we should start buying pampers." I suggested.
"Okay let's go to Publix." He said.
"Now?"
"Yeah why not?"
"Baby anything can happen between now and then."
"Don't say that we will have a beautiful baby."
"Okay."
"Let's go."
He helped me up from the couch.

At Publix
We went on the line to check out line. I hate this Publix but it's the closest one to home. I hate it cause Tracy works here. She is such a conniving bitch.
I got to the front of the line. Zion put the pampers and snacks on the conveyor belt. I looked up and realized that Tracy was the cashier. Shit!
"Hey girl! What's with the pampers?" She asked. Before I could lie Zion opened his big mouth.
"We are expecting a little one." He said.
"That's amazing! I thought the pampers were for James. Cause we all know Cece's broke ass can't afford it." She said.
"You can't talk about broke ass bitch. You been working here since the eleventh grade and ain't got a promotion." I snapped. Ain't nobody gonna get away with talking about my best friend.
"I'm contented with my job." She said.
"So why burn down Felicia's Kitchen?"
"My shift is over."
She stopped scanning items and walked away. Zion and I put the stuff back in the cart and went to self check out.

Tracy
I left work and went straight by Jeremiah. When I got in his room he was watching tv with his hand in his pants. I smiled at him. I crawled in his bed.
"Hey baby." He said.
"Hey." I replied.
"How was your day? You look upset."
"My day was fine."
"I missed you."
He kissed me and rolled on top of me.
"Jeremiah." I said softly.
"Yes?" He answered.
"I want a baby."
"What?"
"I want a baby."
"Where is this coming from?"
"I just want a baby."
"Its only been 7 months Tracy."
"So? You was fucking with Cece for one night."
"That was different."
"Ain't nothing different."
"Baby can we just wait it out for a while?"
"Fine."
