Judges are required to follow this criteria while judging and scoring the books allotted to them. All books will be scored out of 100
Cover - 10 Points
The thing to look out for while judging the book cover is to see how attractive it is. Basically if you would pick up the book if you saw it in a store. Another point to note is if the cover is related to the story at all.
Summary - 10 Points
Was the summary hooking? Did it make you want to read the book?
First Chapter/Prologue - 10 Points
Was the first chapter/prologue hooking? Did it make you curious enough to keep reading? Did it flow well?Plot - 30 Points?
How original was the plot? How well was it written out? Were you able to follow it or was it too confusing? Was the writer able to put forth the plot in an interesting manner? Did the plot get lost in fillers?Character Development - 20 Points
How unique were the characters? Were they developed in a logical manner? Did they contribute to the plot? Were they likable/realistic?
All characters, from the main to the side have to be judged.Grammar - 20 Points
While judging look out for typing errors, spelling mistakes, incorrect sentence structures, missing words, incorrect punctuation and vocabulary.All judges are required to read 10 CHAPTERS of every book allotted to them. If the book has less than 10 chapters that you have to read all. We ask you to read so many chapters so that you get a basic idea of the plot as well as to keep the judging fair. While some stories are fast paced, some are slow. This way you'll have an idea of what's going on in every story.
