Chapter 1.

Case:#278648.
Creature: No assigned.

Green eyes stared into the two words 'No assigned', he had tried so many different creatures.

He had even pulled some out of retirement just to scare her. Nothing. Not even a scream. Nothing.

Everyone that went in there either came out crying or retired straight away. Whatever this child did was horrible.

The big boss was nearly out of the job because this one girl had been playing him for 2 years. 2 FULL years!

Charlotte Dower. Her first monster; a giant goldfish-faced humanoid named Bubba, had been with her for 4 years, and then she wasn't scared of him anymore.

After that it was just a string of different common, uncommon and even rare monsters.... He even assigned a sentient sock monster to her. He came back crying!

Anyone that took her case came back mentally scared. And they were never fully right afterwards.

Then, he did something that no one thought he would do. He tried it himself.

He finally understood why. And this is how hell had two rulers instead of one. A King, and A Princess.

King's P.O.V

Just as I was about to thank the demons for finally letting the case get sorted out, a sobbing monster came rushing through the door.

"I *hiccup* resign! This job *hiccup* is-" he stops for awhile falling to the floor in a heap hugging himself, "Too *hiccup* much...". When he finally gets his words out he's a mess with his tails curled around his stomach.

I slowly strolled over making sure to give just enough room between us to know that I'm here. He looked up and his eyes were bloodshot and had tears streaming down his face.

"You can go." My voice making the few pictures I have hanging up to shake. He looked at me shocked and surprised that I was letting him have an early retirement, before getting to his feet steadily.

Looking at me he bowed and ran out of my office leaving his tears stained on the carpet. Sighing softly I realised that I now how to find out what his last assignment was to make him react so badly.

Now seated in my raised seat I searched everywhere for my last assignment handouts and finally found him.

I was enraged. This one girl. This one 6 year old! She had taken all of my monsters and not a single one did it. I looked and the remaining monsters that I could tell to go and scare her, and my name was the only one there.

I made a choice to do something that I haven't done in years. I assigned myself the job and walked out the door of the office that I've been stuck in for years.

Finally ready to get back on the field. Ready to scare a little girl....
