Word: 2.5k

Summary: Reader and Billy encounter Steve guarding the house of Will and Jonathan Byers but Billy uses his dangerous moves to barge past. While he believes he'll set things straight between the crew and his sister, his night takes a turn for the worst.

A/N: So I decided to switch this scene up a lot. I'm only putting this out before people start attacking me with, "That's not what happened!" So yeah, I hope you guys like it! Don't worry, another part is coming up!

I had been wrong in believing that there would be no banter between Billy and I. Not even five minutes after we left, he had turned down the radio. "Just so you know, I told Max to stay away from your brother."

I scoffed. "Sounds a bit racist, don't ya think?"

"It not racist." he snapped deeply. "It's called protection."

"From what, black people? You're a hypocrite then if you can tell her to stay away from Lucas when I'm sitting in the passenger seat of your car."

He shook his head, his lips forming a straight, thin line. "He pissed her off the other day."

"And?" I folded my arms across my chest.

"I did what any other sibling would do: told her to never see him again. If she did, there would be consequences."

"You're going to be a great father some day." I spoke sarcastically before focusing on the topic at hand. "Besides, he didn't mean to piss her off. He thought he was doing the right thing but I guess not."

Briefly, he glanced at me before returning his vision back to the dark road. "Is there something I need to know?"

Realizing what I had just said, I responded with a shake of my head. "No Mister Hargrove, there's nothing you need to know. It's middle school business and what you should be focused on is whether or not some female you've slept with has herpes."

"What's your problem? Since I first met you, you've been a complete—"

"Bitch? Yeah, I'm only like this because you made it known that people like me can't get in with people like you." I explained while pointing my index finger in his direction.

Looking at his hands, you could decipher his knuckles turning white from instantly gripping the steering wheel tighter in his hands. "I have a reputation to uphold."

I scoffed again with an eye roll. "When Steve was King, he was actually decent enough for me to tolerate."

He let out a bitter laugh, about to say something smart until I stopped him with, "Turn left!" He did the sharpest turn a driver could manage in this type of vehicle, slowly coming to a stop in front of the Byers house. I peeked over to the front window and rolled my eyes when I witnessed the kids try to duck from my stare.

Billy was the first to hop out with a lit cigarette tucked in between his lips. When that had happened, I don't know. But what I did know was that I was glad to be out of this stench filled car that the girls at school drooled over.

"Am I dreaming or is that you Harrington?" he spoke in the direction on the porch.

My eyes dilated instantly at the name of my close friend. Steve stood on the porch of the Byers home with both hands resting on his hips like a scolding parent. "Yeah it's me, Don't cream your pants."
