Emma's POV

I opened my bedroom window and felt the cold wind nipped my skin as I began to climb down using a long rope of my old clothes tied together. Thank god I went hiking with my cousin before, otherwise I would've fallen from this two story building, not to mention the heels I wore. Being careful as to not ruin my dress, I landed softly on the ground and grabbed my bag I threw out earlier. Peeking a little from outside the window of the house, I saw my mother was already on her way to her bedroom while my father was half asleep, sprawled on the couch with the football game on.

I looked left and right to make sure that none of my neighbours saw me or I'll be caught by them and get into deep shit trouble with my parents. When the coast was clear, quietly, I rushed towards my car across the road. My black Ferrari parked across waited for me, so quickly I slid in, inserting the keys and hearing my precious car roar to life.

"This better be good, Bethany McLauren." I muttered to myself.

I stepped on the pedal and the car moved in a fast speed the way I always drive at night. One of my hand was on the steering wheel while the other was switching the stereo on to fill the emptiness of the car with music. My phone vibrated as I was driving so I checked it at the light to see a text from my best friend, Beth.

Where are you?

I'm on my way. Jeez lady,it's not easy to sneak out like a pro.

Hurry up!Lonely here!!

I impatiently huffed as the light turned green and I sped off to the club we promised to meet at. The drive to my destination was quite short from my house according to the GPS in my car. When I arrived, I parked the car on the side of the road where a parking space is available and saw the large neon lights written 'Phoenix'. I spotted a large sized bouncer stood beside the entrance while letting people in who are legal.

Confidently, I stride towards the club so he wouldn't suspect that I'm not 21. Why in the world would you choose a popular club that needs to be 21 and above, Beth?
The bouncer looked at me for a moment before allowing me in without asking for an ID. I entered the huge building as I blew a sigh of relief.

Thank God I wore high heels.

As my heels clicked on the floor, I could feel all eyes were trailed on me as I made my way across the dance floor. Quickly, I passed a lot of sweaty bodies and drunk people before my eyes landed on a blonde waving at me like a lunatic. I had never been to this club before and I am beginning to think it is a bad idea, the one we usually went wasn't nearly as crowded as this. For Beth, it was normal cause she usually party at most of the clubs in-

"Emma, you made it!" She squealed like a school girl.

"No shit, I died half way through the crowd." I sarcastically retorted back, a grin spreaded across my face. "So, what's the occasion? I had a very shitty day today with my parents so this better be good, McLauren."

She rolled her eyes before turning to look at the guy beside her, "Emma, I want you to meet Ethan. Ethan, this is Emma." She introduced me to him enthusiasticlly.

"Hey." He added a wink but all I could reply was "Uh..hi?".His charms really got me there with that neat, gelled hair and a cocky smile that left lots of girls in the club swoon over him. He chuckled at my awkwardness and we got to know each other for a while before my dear friend decided to ditch me and head to the dance floor.

"Hey, I'm gonna dance with Michael now. Catch with you later!" She told me excitedly, then grabbing a guy's wrist before rushing to dance with him in the crowd.

Who's Michael?

Before I could call or stop her, I realized that she was setting me up a blind date with Ethan. Love is so not my thing and yet, she's too stubborn to suck it up that I'll never have a boyfriend. I always imagined myself being a single, happy-go-lucky person in the future with no boys in my life and just enjoy the rest of my days with cats all over my house and me knitting on the sofa while sipping tea. Okay, the last part was a total no but the first one was a life goal to me.
