Another time the sun rises in the ever peaceful yet busy town of Gate. Acya is on her way to her favourite school. She called it 'The Euphoric.' She suggested that name to her teacher long ago, right when she was a new student. Her teacher just looked her way and got back to her teaching with some other dude. Even after that, she raised the topic once but her teacher seemed to get sour mooded again. After that, she did not talk about it again. Though, she named the place so, it was only for her to call it.
"Good morning!" She greets as she steps in, as usual as ever. "Hey! Good morning. Leave that and come," her teacher said gesturing to her small bag that she would carry with her. Acya followed her teacher to the backyard at the far end of the house. She knew this talk was important. Or else, Yinya would not ask her to put her bag aside. She would just greet her and leave her to settle near her instrument and start right off.
Acya has never been here. She only had a chance to see it through the door that connects the open back yard and the kitchen. That was when she had a little chase with Runa few months ago. It was just a typical back yard seen in the villages. The trees are big and they cover the rest of the house on that side. It only has a compound wall, not too high, surrounding it. The place was peaceful. It was, in a different sense, very beautiful and enchanting with the rainy season bringing the fresh greenery to the thick canopy. In short it looks and feels like miniature rainforest.
"Hi," the boy she is thinking of said cutely. Think of the angel and the angel is here! She crouched before him and her hand travelled in a lightening speed to reach his cheeks and pull them.
"Acya dear," Yinya sang in a low and sweet voice. "Fine, I didn't even touch your kid!" Acya defended herself. She knew the tone of the Mama mode.
The little boy beside chuckled softly. Acya sighed and stood up. Runa ran off to some other part of The Euphoric."So, Yinny, since you seem too much serious this time," she paused to check what her teacher's response. She waited for her to continue.
"Well, so here it is," her teacher handed her a brochure with pages as thick and shiny as they can be. It gave off the feeling of possessing the highest powers.
"High Door." Acya read aloud the letters than have been embarked upon the heavy brochure.
She found all the magnificent instruments that could make music as she turned the it's pages or rather cards. "Whoa," she said amazed at the royalty. "So, what is this in all?" she asked her teacher not bothering to read all the text herself. It was her excitement. If she was calm or if it was just another day, she would know about it on her own.
"This is a great institution of music. It is not the best, so to say, but it is not less than any other."
"Yeah, I could understand that much," the girl interrupted the woman as she started speaking about High Door.
Yinya went on, "This is a way to bring people together. High Door harmonises humanity. They have people from all over the world."
"What?"
"Alright, big words for you, uh? I better tell you what you get from there first. Take this as one platinum opportunity," she was stopped again with Acya's comment. "Aye, you hate gold for God knows why haha." The girl chuckled.
"Stay calm. So this is a big opportunity for you to prove yourself. The expectations are high. But know that all the students that are chosen, of course, merely because they need atleast one student from an area with a particular population. That is not low either though I don't remember it. So know that being there, if you decide positively, does notake you anything higher than your other friends here." This time, Yinya was not trying to cut down the girl's pride, but getting her prepared and looking out for her so that she does not fall into a wrong perception of herself and the High Door.
"So, they will teach you to be the best even if you are not now."
"Okay miss, my head's heating up. I think that's enough for this day. Where is this place anyway?" She said and I'm afraid I couldn't make it out of it was out of some subtle amount of frustration that she was not the best yet or if the information was really too much for her.
"Ever heard of the Devil's triangle?"
"What?!" Acya said in clear disbelief, "Why would you pull up stories?" She asked as she stretched her hand to see for herself on the brochure lying on the table beside them. Just as she took it into her hands, Yinya pointed in the address. After a blink their conversation began again.
"Well, I don't know what to say. But I know in my heart that you are not preparing a death for me," the girl did not joke.
"Well, now how should I explain this? As much as I heard from my husband back then, it was for the security reasons. They have all the special flights to get you there safely." Yinya said awaiting her response.
"Oh. So your husband was there?" She exclaimed the question. "Yes, though, that's not what you should be interested in."
"Fine then, anything else?"
"You didn't even hear half."
"Oh, had a feeling. But can we please continue this tomorrow? I promise I will come."
"Okay," she simply said. Acya started for her home The Euphoric after grabbing her bag.
That night she thought about it. She did get the brochure along. But she did not remove it from her bag. She would show it to her parents once she understands the things better.
As she was going into her sleep, she thought about how long she needed to be there and what would happen to school. She had a ton of doubts. Could she take her family there along with herself or if she could make nice friends there. If she could get along from people from a different hemisphere. Most of all, the brochure gave her a doubt if she could survive in the High Door.
