I Am Helena of Athens

I am a statue,

Watching people come and go.

Few lean on me, even fewer sit by me

But for some unknown reason,

I seem to make those few feel better.

I change them.

But as the object of my affections,

All those feelings I have for you,

As amazing as they are,

Why are they unable to

Melt even your heart of stone?

I am a statue,

Watching you come and go.

My love for you, Demetrius,

However unrequited, keeps me going

For I am a statue

Whose love, much like stature,

Is constant and unchanging.

I am Helena of Athens
