Alden was sprinting his way to the hotel lobby not even minding his suitcase outside, or the concierge staff asking him a question, or a few Pinoy guests snapping photos of him. He could not contain his excitement. In fact, while on the plane, he was already planning on how to surprise Maine. With barely four hours left to execute his plan and prepare himself, he opted to check-in first and proceeded to ask the reception if he could book the rooftop exclusive for a sunset dinner. As luck would have it, the receptionists were very accommodating to his requests. One of them introduced herself as a Filipino immigrant and an avid fan. It was only then that he remembered to alert the hotel staff about respecting his privacy, which the latter fully understood. As soon as he connected to the wifi, Alden immediately composed a message to Dean who will come to his aid.
On his way to the washroom, the loud ping of the elevator nearby caught his attention. From his partly hidden spot several meters away, Alden stood frozen when the elevator door slowly opened and revealed Maine half-smiling and pretty in her yellow floral sundress. She stepped out of the lift, aided by Rafa whose left hand was almost touching Maine's elbow. Dean was tagging behind.

Alden could tell that Rafa was all smiles just being next to Maine. That alone was already piercing his heart.
