About a few weeks later after LiAngelo joined UCLA Bruins, him and his family took a trip to China, while they were in China LiAngelo and his friends Jalen Hill and Cody Riley stole Louie Vuitton merchandise and got arrested. There was a camera watching them put a Louis Vuitton duffle bag in a black van. His family found out and they were emotional, leaving his dad disapointed. After getting arrested, the 45th president Donald Trump bailed them out and made a tweet on twitter saying "Do you think the UCLA basketball players will say thank you to me. They were headed 10 years of penitentiary.
The father of UCLA basketball player LiAngelo Ball still isn't crediting President Donald Trump with helping to free his son after his arrest in China, but LaVar Ball did send the president a cheeky gift from his sports apparel line, Big Baller Brand.Even the promoter on CNN says, LaVar Ball told on Tuesday that while he refuses to thank Trump, he mailed a few pairs of Big Baller Brand sneakers to the White House. That was sort of dumb remark, then the next day trump tweeted "Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail! And even tweeted "Shoplifting is a very big deal in China, as it should be (5-10 years in jail), but not to father LaVar. Should have gotten his son out during my next trip to China instead. China told them why they were released. Very ungrateful!
