As I walked through the forest, I began to think about a book I had been reading. It was about this girl who was kidnapped by a man who was obsessed with flowers, and family. I was so caught up in my thoughts that, I didn't notice that I was walking towards a shed until I was only a few meters away.
The wooden shed had been painted white, but the paint was chipping off with age. As for the overall color, it was more of an off-white now. Outside of the shed, about two feet away from the door, there was a little tan, wooden bench. The large door, which was centered perfectly into the wall, had a padlock on a chain. The chain wrapped around the handle of the door, and a metal thing sticking out of the wall.
I walked closer to the strange building, all the while looking around to make sure I was alone. Curiously, I grabbed the chain and pulled slightly, to see if it would come loose. I sighed when the chain didn't fall off of the door. Just when I was about to turn back, I heard a muffled noise from inside of the shed.
My curiosity grew as I moved closer to the door. Another muffled noise came through the shed walls. In a split second, the sun glinted off a shiny, silver object that was on the bench outside. I sprung forward to grab it. I turned the object over in my hands, and I saw that it was a key.
So, I did what anyone would do in my situation and I unlocked the door. Before I opened it, I quickly looked around me. When I saw that no one else was near me, turned back to the ancient door.
It creaked loudly as I pushed it open. The sunlight that I had let in by opening the door was the only thing lighting up the shed. The beam of light spread across the stone floor.
When I finally looked around the inside of the shed I gasped loudly, and froze in place. The image in front of me was something you would only think to see in nightmares.
A young woman, who couldn't be older that twenty was sitting in the corner of the tiny shed. She was sitting upright on her pale, bony knees. Her hands were chained to the wall behind her, her skinny arms were straight out on either side of her. Her long, light brown hair hung down against her shoulders.
Her head jolted up to look at me when I pushed the door open. There was a noticeable cut on the left side of her forehead, and the blood hadn't fully stopped flowing out of it. The soft trickle of blood trailed close to her eye. The girl's emerald eyes were wide in terror. A light blue, faded cloth was gagging her, making it so that she couldn't speak or scream.
When she saw me, she began struggling frantically against her restraints. Her muffled screams were ringing through the air. Too late, I realized that she wasn't looking at me, she was looking behind me.
Just as I was about to turn around to see what she was looking at, a cold, hard object hit the back of my head with tremendous force.
The last thing I saw before the world faded into black, was that woman's wide, fearful, green eyes.
