Nate

My computer crashed again, probably deleting all my progress on the song. I hated when it did this. Music was my only escape from reality anymore.

I decided to take a walk while my computer rebooted. While I was walking I began to think. I ended up getting so distracted that I ran into somebody. They managed to stay on their feet. I was not so fortunate.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" The woman shouted. I got a better look at her. She looked Hispanic, and had short, dark, hair and looked about sixteen, like me.

"No, i- its all my fault. I wasn't paying attention." She reached out her hand towards me.

"It doesn't matter," she said, helping me up. "As long as we're both okay, everything is fine. I'm Christina, by the way."

"Nate." I said as I shook her hand.

"Well then, see you around Nate!" She said and continued on her way. Maybe I would see her at school once it started again.

Cristina

It was the first day at my new school. I walked into my first class to be greeted by a balding old man in the front of the room.

"Three people per table, no more, no less." He was shouting in the front of the room. I stood awkwardly in the back of the room, until I saw a familiar face.

"Hey, Nate." I said as I walked over to his table.

"Oh, hey Cristina." He was sitting with another boy, obviously a good friend of his.

"You two know each other?" The boy asked.

"We- bumped into each other during the summer." Nate responded. I giggled while I put my stuff down and sat next to them.

"Cristina, this is my friend Hunter." He said introducing me to his friend.

"Hunter, this is Cristina, I met her over break."

"Hi, nice to meet you." I said reaching out to shake his hand.

"Yeah, nice to meet you." He said taking it.

"Class, no more jibber jabber. I'll be passing out a syllabus. It must be done by Wednesday, or else." The teacher shouted. The entire class went quiet. The rest of the class went by uneventfully, and it turns out me and Nate had the same schedule so I got to follow him around for the rest of today.

At the end of the day I was getting ready to walk home when a voice from behind me said "Hey, you walking home?" I turned around and it was Nate.

"Yeah, why?"

"I could give you a ride if you want."

"Oh, that would be nice."

On the way home we talked about ourselves. I learned that he played guitar, sang, and was in a band called Count Me In. I asked him to drop me off a block away from my house. He was confused, but obliged. And with that, we both went our separate ways.
